All-Star Tees for All the Stars on Your Team!

Anyone who participates on a team – whether it’s athletic or academic – works hard to do his or her best. Whether it’s Little League or Pop Warner, or organized school teams, kids everywhere dream of being the best. And some are.

Many sports and academic organizations have All-star games or even leagues. Participation is by invitation only, and often players have to try out to earn a spot on the elite team. Extra practices are usually required, as well as more extensive traveling, sometimes overnight. Exhibition games may be played, and for older teams, working with and/or mentoring younger players may also be included. With great power comes great responsibility, as Spiderman says, and these talented players are not only expected to play well, but to be good examples to others both as athletes and as human beings. They receive not only the rewards of playing with others who as talented (or more so) than they are, but they usually get lots of perks, as well. Trophies, recognition, gifts, even trips to exotic locales to play the final games (think Little League and the NFL All-Star game in Hawaii, here) are all examples of these perks.

Another perk that these elite can receive is a t-shirt proclaiming their superiority. They should be proud of their accomplishments, and wearing an all-star tee can help them share their athletic prowess with the rest of the world. Kids especially should be proud when they are the best; it builds their self-esteem and helps them stay confident in themselves. Being the best reflects the hard work they’ve done, and they deserve to show off a little. Why not with an all-star tee?

Not all All-stars are athletes, however. Some are so new to life that their horizons are wide open. I’m talking babies, here, folks! What new dad or mom hasn’t gazed lovingly down at that cute little face and imagined him or her as a future supertalent? A cute little onesie or baby tee with “Future All-Star” on it is just the thing for this new little person. Since a baby’s life is a blank canvas, he or she can grow up to be anything. A tee for baby like this shows the world that mom and dad are ready for anything, and that they believe in their child’s possibilities. Grandparents can get in on the fun, with tees that show a baby golfing, fishing, running, playing football, etc…with the words “Grandpa’s (or Grandma’s) Little All-Star”.  Parents, grandparents, and other family members truly need know no limits here!

All-Star teams aren’t limited to athletics, however. Academia also has its share of All-Star teams. Chess clubs, debate clubs, and even Scrabble players have All-Star team events. While not relying on the power of their bodies, they rely on their more important muscle – their mind – to showcase their abilities. Sending off the debate team All-Stars to a regional or even state or national competition with All-Star team tees will give them an extra edge – they’ll be mentally prepared of course, but having team t-shirts can unite them even more.

No matter the type of All-Star – athletic, future, or academic, the All-Star in your life needs an All-Star tee!

Appreciate Your Volunteers with a Cool Tee

At almost any public or private social function, there will be folks who need help. They may want to know where to park, where to check their coats or umbrellas, where to find the restroom, and where they can change the baby. They might want help with purchasing tickets, finding seats, or understanding just why the baby gorilla is playing with its dung. All of these questions are important, especially to the person asking them, and it is usually the volunteers who come to the rescue. At fancy places like museums, they are called docents, the symphony hall calls them ushers, but most people just call them by what they are: volunteers.

A volunteer tee is truly a must for any social occasion that will rely on volunteers to see it through to completion. A public race like a fun run or marathon, a charity event, or a cultural fair all need volunteers to help make everything run smoothly. Not only should these people be recognized for their dedicated service and hard work and support for the event or organization, they make them easily recognizable to the public or attendee at the function. Folks WILL have questions, and they will search for someone to answer them. Clothing your volunteers in matching tees that make them stand out a bit from the crowd will help your guests find them and get the help they need.

The larger the event, the more important it is for your volunteers to be easily identified. While large events like fairs and expos and such have many hired helpers for jobs such as security, food services, and janitorial services, it may not be possible for all of your volunteers to meet and get to know these paid employees. Therefore, it is to the benefit of all workers – both paid and unpaid – for the volunteers to wear identifying tees. This lets everyone know that the volunteer isn’t just a guest or visitor trying to sneak around back stage or behind the scenes to sneak a peak at a celebrity or other interesting yet private aspects of the event. These volunteer tees will allow your volunteers move freely through the event both among the guests and public attendees and behind the scenes – literally wherever their help is needed most.

Another place that one would find a lot of volunteers is at a school. Nearly every public and private school relies on a core group of volunteers to help things run more smoothly. Whether through day-to-day operations or at special events like school dances or festivals or other functions, volunteers help make everything go more smoothly. Why not show these folks (typically parents of the students attending the school in question) your gratitude by gifting them with a customized tee? You could include the school mascot, have the shirt done in the school colors, and then have the word “Volunteer” emblazoned across the back or at the breast pocket (or where one would be located!).

There are many uses for a Volunteer tee; you will find a way to use one, whether you are an organizer or a volunteer yourself.

Wear Your Accomplishments on Your T-Shirt

“This car climbed Mt. Hood.” “I’ve been to Heaven and it’s in the Poconos.” These are some examples of bumper stickers you may see on cars and trucks and vans as you drive around town. People have always wanted, since they discovered written language, to share their accomplishments with each other. They write about them. They sing about them. They put stickers on their cars, they tattoo themselves and they also wear them. That’s right, people wear their accomplishments right on their clothes!

Literally anything you’ve done can be put on a shirt. Finished kindergarten? Put it on a tee. Made it through your 25th year teaching kindergarten? Put that on a shirt. Wear it with pride; it’s something that not even all other teachers could do.

About to graduate with your PhD in mathematics? If you don’t want to wear a tee that shows off your amazing brain, I bet your mom or dad will. “My honor student is smarter than your honor student” is the line of thinking, here.

Did you just run a marathon? Simply crossing the finish line is reason enough to wear a shirt telling everyone about it, in my opinion. Participating in and finishing a race like this is not just about running; it’s about all the training that you’ve done; the stretching, the blisters, the early foggy mornings when you’d rather be in bed or sipping a second cup of coffee… Running in a race like this tells the world that you’re physically fit; you’re dedicated and have great self-discipline. You may also inspire someone else to get in shape to run in the next 5K!

Taking a special trip that includes something like white water rafting, rappelling, or riding a burro down into the Grand Canyon are activities that, once accomplished, deserve to be proclaimed to the world. These are all fun, exciting activities, and the doing of them should be shared. Putting these experiences on your shirt will spread the word to everyone who cares to look.

What to share your prowess with the fishing rod? Just landed the fish of your dreams? Wear a tee that says something like “Kingfish…He didn’t get away!”

Maybe you and three of your pals have just played in a golf tournament and won! That’s something to definitely put on your t-shirt. While you may have to wear a collared shirt on the course, changing in to a golf tee that shares your superiority with the world in the locker room is completely acceptable.

Have a child who’s going to the state spelling bee? Not only do THEY deserve a cool tee telling the world how smart they are, but so do you! While they may need to wear their “Sunday Best” while competing up on the stage, YOU can certainly wear a shirt that supports their talent and skill.

No matter what your accomplishments are, they are something to be proud of. Whether they are physical or mental, you deserve the recognition of others for a job well done.

Show the Love for Your Customers with T-Shirts

When an establishment has been in operation for at least one year, great things begin to happen. The business in question first and foremost typically decides to celebrate. They celebrate the fact that they’ve made it through the first year; they celebrate the fact that the whole thing hasn’t come crashing down around them; and then celebrate the people who have made it all possible – the customers!

If YOU are the owner of a business, be it retail, wholesale, service-oriented or restaurant, you are most likely most grateful to those folks who choose to darken your doors with their presence, and more importantly, with their cash. They are the life’s blood of your endeavor, and without them, you would be completely out of business. Literally.

Now that your first year anniversary has rolled around (or your 10th or 25th), it’s time to celebrate and thank the folks who have helped make it all happen. If you have a week-long celebration complete with giveaways, food and sale prices, why not order some Customer Appreciation tees for your staff to wear? You can include your company’s logo or design, the dates and the number of years you’ve been established. You could even have a “Thank-you” message printed, if you like. Put one of these shirts on every one of your employees’ backs, and they’ll be walking advertisements for how thankful you are for your customer and their continued patronage.

Of course, if you’ve been in business for awhile and things have really been in the black, you may want to include tees as a giveaway to your valued customers. Ordering t-shirts to show your appreciation of your customers will definitely make them feel like they are doing a great thing to help you out and frequent your business.

Any size business can do this; but it is probably more feasible for the larger ones. You may want to be able to offer t-shirts in various sizes, from a child’s small to XXL, and that can get pricey. However, order all larges and you can fit most folks who walk in the door. If the shirt is too big, they can use it as loungewear or even a nightshirt. If it’s too small, they may pass it along to someone else. (Maybe someone else who’s never been to your business; this might just get that newbies to step through your door!)

If you’ve put in a large order for tees, it might be a good idea to advertise them a bit. Depending on how many tees you want to give out, take out an ad in the paper, get on the local radio station, or just hand out fliers with each purchase. How much or how little you advertise is dependent on how many folks you want to come see you and your business. Remember that lots of folks will do just about anything to get a “free” prize or giveaway, and if all they have to do is come down and check out your business, you’ll probably get lots of new customers!

Whether you wear one yourself or give them away to your customers, customer appreciation tees are a great way to show your clients and customers how much their business really means to you.

Trick or Treat Done to a Tee

One of the most eagerly anticipated nights of the year is October 31, also known as Halloween. Ah, yes. Trick-or-treating, bonfires, costume parties, haunted houses, jack-o-lanterns–Halloween is a day that brings out the kid in all of us.

While many of us have or will donned a costume in honor of All Hallows Eve, a majority of us work at jobs that frown on wearing them to the office. The naughty nurse outfit might not go over well with the parents of your preschool students. And if you’re a brain surgeon, pretty much every choice out there is impractical (unless, of course, you choose to dress up like a brain surgeon.) However, there’s no need to limit your devotion to Halloween with just a pair of skull earrings or a jack-o-lantern tie pin–why not create and wear your own custom T-shirt?

Designing a unique T-shirt isn’t hard at all. All you need to do is come up with a decent idea, make it eye-catching, have it screened onto the size, type and color of shirt of your choice, and you’re good to go.

Here are a few ideas to get your started:

Ghoul’s night out
Fright crew
Witchy woman
It’s all about the candy corn
Vampires suck
I don’t do costumes
Halloween bites (good one for dogs)
Trick or treat, smell my feet (with footprints)
Love a first fright
I want candy–or else!
Gone batty
I’ve put a spell on you
Angel in disguise

A myriad of fonts are available for you to use–it’s Halloween! Nothing is too tacky or over the top. You can make your text look like it’s dripping, like it’s smeared, or like it’s carved into stone. Click around to get ideas and inspiration.

Now that you know what you want to say, it’s time to find a picture or two to help you say it better. Stuck for ideas? Here are the basic Halloween icons to get draw inspiration from:

*Witches hats, brooms
*Ghosts
*Zombies
*Mummies
*Spiders, cobwebs
*Skeletons
*Jack-o-Lanterns
*Candy corn
*Vampires, stakes, bats
*Frankenstein, Wolfman
*Black cats

You should be able access all of these images somewhere online fairly easily. If you want to create something truly unique, however, it’s a good idea to have a conversation with the custom T-shirt manufacturer you plan on doing business with. Chances are they can help you, or can point you in the direction of someone who will.

Now that you have the text and design, it’s time to choose the shirt itself.

When it comes to the actual shirt, the obvious colors are black, white, or orange. Most online custom T-shirt dealers usually post a size chart on their websites–it’s important to read these–you don’t want to spend a lot of energy creating the perfect shirt, only to order the wrong size.

It’s a good idea to put your order in early–there’s probably plenty of people who are designing and ordering their custom T-shirt too, and you want to make sure your shirt is in hand before the first Halloween party of the season kicks off.

Lighten Up: Put a Positive Message on Your T-Shirt!

Are you sick of all the negative messages out there? It seems sometimes like all we see—in the news, on television, in movies—is negative media. We see violence and swearing and all kinds of negative behavior on television and in movies. People sometimes protest the negative content used in entertainment, but, sadly, we see a lot of the same stuff on the news. And even in everyday life, there can sometimes be an overwhelming feeling of negativity.

People feel cynical, for whatever reason—because of life experience beating them down, or because that’s how they see other people live their lives, or maybe just because they think it’s cool to not believe in anything.

But there’s something you can do about it! You don’t have to live with negativity surrounding you. None of us do! But those people who want to fight against negativity have to join forces and support each other through positive thinking.

The power of positive thinking is unbelievably strong. If you’ve ever been in a tough spot in life—feeling discouraged or overwhelmed or intimidated—you know how valuable a positive message of encouragement can be. Maybe you had a friend who told you, “You can do it!” or “The best is yet to come!” Or maybe your teacher told you, “Hang in there,” or “Tomorrow is another day.” Sometimes when life seems impossible, someone comes along and tells you just what you need to hear to get back into the swing of things.

Or sometimes, even when you’re not having a particularly bad day, you see a positive message somewhere—on a sign on the street or in someone’s window, on a bumper sticker, or from someone’s behavior—and your outlook on life seems to get just a little bit cheerier.

If you’ve experienced anything like this, you know how much a tiny positive comment can change your day, or even your life. Even when it comes from a stranger, the positive message can really ring true. Actually, sometimes a message of encouragement can be even stronger coming from a stranger because it comes as more of a surprise, and seems more like a universal sentiment, rather than an attempt by someone you love to make you feel better. Chances are the person who passed the positive comment on to you had no idea how much of an effect he or she was having on you.

So why not return the favor? It could take very little effort to send on the message of positive thinking to someone who needs it badly. Making a custom t-shirt with your favorite positive message on it could help a friend or a stranger turn their day around from hopelessness to inspiration. Choose a couple of the phrases or messages that you find to be most encouraging, illuminating, or just plain inspirational. You could put all of the phrases on one t-shirt, or you could make a couple different t-shirts to highlight your favorite phrases. Just think of yourself as the poster or the bumper sticker that could save someone’s day!

Custom Halloween T-Shirts Put the “OOOOO” in Boo!

Want a quick and easy Halloween costume for you or your children? Try Halloween t-shirts. They are great for kids of all ages who are heading out to trick or treat. T-shirts are an easy costume for your child’s first Halloween when they are often too tiny for expensive and involved costumes. Try a pumpkin t-shirt. Your little one will be comfortable and adorable. It’s also easy for you when it comes to changing diapers and cleaning up. Personalize the costume with their name. “Ashley’s 1st Halloween!” And, don’t stop there. Mom and Dad can get T-shirts to match and customize them, as well. “I’m Ashley’s Dad.” You will be the most adorable family in the neighborhood!
Other ideas for little ones include a t-shirt that looks like Cinderella’s giant pumpkin with a magic wand and tiara. The shirt says, “Pumpkin Princess.”

T-shirts are a simple costume for older kids and grown-ups who don’t want to put a lot of effort into dressing up for trick or treating or a Halloween party. Try a shirt with a rib cage on it. Or one with the shadow of a man doing martial arts that says, “Cheap Ninja Costume.” And, for those smart alec’s in the group, how about “I left my other costume with your mom.”

Online you can find a variety of pre-designed t-shirts. Look for shirts that will quickly make you look like a pirate, pumpkin, a disco diva, magician, or your favorite scary face.

It’s easy to design your own shirt, too. Take your own design or add your own text to any of the thousands of designs found in online libraries. Put your picture with “Trick or Treat” over it and you won’t have to say a word when you head out for candy.

Online and at fabric and sewing shops you’ll find easy patterns to make your own Halloween t-shirts. They are much easier than complicated costumes. It’s easy to iron or sew bits and pieces onto a simple t-shirt to create the perfect pirate, flapper, princess, wizard, or superhero.

Typically, you’ll find kids t-shirts for between $12-$15 dollars. Halloween t-shirts for adults are closer to $20.

In a time, when so much of our focus in on our troops fighting in Iraq, Halloween is a great time to show your support. Try a shirt with an American flag. And, for kids, there’s a new trend. Put your soldier’s picture on the shirt. Then, add “My mom/dad is fighting in Iraq. I deserve a treat.”

If you want to order the perfect t-shirt for Halloween, start shopping now. Go online and search for “Halloween t-shirts.” Once you select a site to go with, decide if you want to create your own or go with a pre-fabbed design. Pick a size and shirt style. Then, you can typically customize it with names and colors. You can see a proof of the shirt before you actually confirm your order. Expect it to take about two weeks to arrive. Then, all you need is a pumpkin for trick or treating!

Brats, Beers, and T-Shirts – the Perfect Oktoberfest

Daylight savings, windy weather, falling leaves–when these things happen, summer is officially over. However, fall doesn’t officially begin until Oktoberfest. Oktoberfest is a 16-day celebration held each year in Munich, Bavaria and Germany. It starts in late September and lasts until early October (hence the name Oktoberfest). These festivals attract millions of people every year and pumps plenty of money into the local economy. Over the years the revelry has spread to many cities and towns across the United States. These celebrations are modeled after the original, and include sausage, sauerkraut, music, dancing, and of course, beer.

Oktoberfest is known for its food and beer, but mostly for its beer. This is a festival where visitors are almost expected to over-imbibe alcohol. However, organizers have been trying to change this perception. In recent years they’ve installed some ground rules for festival-goers–no drinking the hard stuff after 6 p.m., for example. They’ve also implemented an assortment of family-friendly events, such as weiner dog races and live music provided by polka bands.

No matter what your reason is for attending Oktoberfest, a good way to truly get into the spirit of the celebration is to wear a custom T-shirt. If you click around online you’ll see a wide range of Oktoberfest-related T-shirts that include images of beer steins, weiner dogs, pretzels, polka bands, lone accordion players, lederhosen-wearing drinkers, serving girls, various country flags and more.

Some ideas are better executed than others, but no one is going to make the perfect T-shirt for you BUT you. And that can be done in just a few easy steps:

Select the image you want to use. Make sure it’s not to busy, nor too simple. It also helps if it’s not too offensive, but that’s a matter of personal taste. Select the text you want to use. Sometimes the image so strong, no words are necessary. If you do decide to use them, however, choose a short phrase in a font that’s easy to read.

Select the shirt you want to wear. You can choose long or short sleeved, cotton or other fabrics, classic cut or “girlie” cut–there are a lot of options out there, so take your time examining them and choose the shirt that’s best for you.

Give yourself time. It sometimes takes longer than you think to design and order a quality shirt, so make sure you start this process at least a few weeks before Oktoberfest begins. Finally, when you get your shirt, take care of it. Wash it with a color-protecting detergent. Dry it using normal settings. Pull it out of the dryer as soon as it’s done. Place a towel over the design before you iron it.

Take all these suggestions to heart and you’ll have the best-looking, Oktoberfest-themed T-shirt in the beer tent this fall.

Give the Gift of Blushing with an Embarrassing T-Shirt

Do you love practical jokes? Those in good taste, of course. Well, what better way to show off your humorous side than by giving an embarrassing t-shirt to a friend or family member. Such a gift will be remembered for years to come, so show off your creative side with specially designed t-shirts whenever the opportunity presents itself. What occasions are best for embarrassing t-shirts?

Birthdays are most obvious. A t-shirt can serve as a great gag gift that actually might be worn if only for the evening. We’ve all seen an ‘over the hill’ t-shirt for a 40th birthday. In fact, the most popular milestone birthdays for these types of t-shirts are 21, 30, 40, 50, and 60. T-shirts can be made up for party goers as well as the individual being celebrated. Participant party shirts are a great idea if you know the birthday guy or girl won’t likely willingly go along with your fun and wear your specially designed t-shirt.
Anniversaries typically aren’t funny occasions, but why can’t they be? If your parents or grandparents are celebrating a milestone and appreciate your good humor, it’s time to put together a t-shirt! Do you have an inside family joke you are ready to share with the world? Making them a specially designed t-shirt is a great way to ensure they’ll never forget the role you played in their special day.

Wedding proposals are a time when uniqueness is often celebrated. This is definitely one time when the more public the display of affection the better. After showing your bride to be how much you love her, why not let her see your humorous side? Have a witty t-shirt put together for her to slip on after your propose. This is probably the one day you can get away with embarrassing her. Take advantage of the opportunity. Who knows? If you’re spending the day in public, the local television station or newspaper may even capture your creativity. Live up the day!

While families are easy targets of your humor, t-shirts can also be used to embarrass those who may be your friends. Confused? Throughout our lives we desire to become affiliated with new organizations or sporting teams. Some, especially those targeted at the college aged, require a hazing or initiation of some sort. These activities are designed to show the potential member’s desire to be part of the organization. Often these activities are in good nature and create a cohesive bond between current and potential members of the organization. An embarrassing t-shirt is well suited for such initiations or hazing. Why not ensure that the embarrassment is public by having the potential new members wear it on their bodies. The specially designed t-shirt can become a tradition associated with the organization and create an ongoing story and history.

Giving an embarrassing t-shirt can be a perfect gift. Used properly, humor can be one of the best gifts for almost any occasion. Spend some time today thinking of the next perfect occasion to have a t-shirt made!

Ideas for Wearing A T-Shirt To Bed

When you turn down the covers at night and crawl into your own bed, no matter what your age, gender or size, the most important thing is comfort. One of the best ways to be sure you are as comfortable as you can be is by wearing the perfect thing to bed. Nothing is as easy to wear and feels as good as a loose, soft, comfy, cotton T-shirt. Men, women and children enjoy sleeping in T-shirts year round, because after all, they are the ultimate in comfort.

For people who have to wear business suits, uniforms or need to follow a dress code daily, they rarely get to enjoy wearing T-shirts. Getting into one at the end of the day is the ultimate in relaxation and is a signal to others that it is down time. Even for those without limitations on what they wear during the day, a sleep T-shirt is still a great fit.

The key to wearing a T-shirt to bed is to make sure that it is larger than you would normally wear. This is so you have more freedom of movement and can relax without the more fitted daytime look and feel. For women and girls, longer T-shirts than usual work great because you don’t need to bother with pajama bottoms or sleep shorts.

Finding the perfect T-shirt to wear to bed may be as simple as “borrowing” one from your boyfriend, husband or dad. The sentimental feeling of sleeping in a loved one’s clothes is comforting. However, for the serious T-shirt sleeper, you will want to have a variety of different sleep tees for different nights and different moods. You can have sleep T-shirts custom-made for different seasons, holidays, days of the week and more. You can opt for different color sleep T-shirts, different designs and even different styles.

Some of the fun things you can have printed on a custom-made T-shirt to sleep in include:
·    Not tonight Honey, I’ve got a headache
·    This is not my boyfriend’s shirt
·    Don’t talk to me until after my coffee
·    Sometime I wake up grumpy, other times I let him sleep
·    Official Snoring T-Shirt
·    World’s Best Dozer
·    Snoring Champ
·    1 sheep, 2 sheep, 3 sheep, zzzz
·    Eat, Sleep, Drink Coffee
·    Wanna nap?
·    Sleeping rocks
·    Of course I’m good in bed, I can sleep for days
·    The whole being awake thing is overrated
·    I love sleeping
·    Catchin’ z’s
·    Sleeps with cats

For the skeptic who thinks sleep T-shirts can’t be sexy, choosing the right type of sleep tee will take care of the issue. A form fitting black T-shirt with a v-neck or scoop neckline is very inviting. Thinner T-shirts that you can see through will also spice up sleep time. You can even get a T-shirt printed with a come-on to make sure your partner gets the message.

No matter what type of sleep T-shirt you have in mind, you can have it made exactly as you want. Order a custom-made T-shirt today and go to bed in style and comfort from now on.

They’re Not Laughing at You… It’s Your T-Shirt

Finding a great joke to play on someone is a great way to have a few good laughs. As long as your joke doesn’t offend the person then you can enjoy the laughs together for years to come. One fun way to pull a joke on someone is through t-shirts. You can give the recipient a t-shirt that makes fun of the person. There are so many things you can choose to have printed onto a t-shirt that will get some great laughs.
You can make fun of the person’s age on a t-shirt. The traditional “Over the hill” is a great start. You can get even more creative with age jokes though. Just a few fun sayings you can chose include:

·    In dog years, I’m dead
·    Seen it, done it, can’t remember most of it
·    Gravity is a harsh mistress
·    I’d pick on someone my own age, but they’re dead now

Maybe you want to make fun of someone’s personality. Perhaps the person is a little conceited and wants everything. “High maintenance” may be the perfect shirt for such a personality. “You can thank my plastic surgeon” and “I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken” would also be fun. “Warning: don’t annoy the crazy person” or “I listen to enough voices in my head, I don’t want to listen to yours too” would be fun for the slightly crazy personalities. For “Redneck” there are also many great ideas.

·    Trailer Park Christmas: Nothing says Christmas like beer can lights on the tree.
·    Redneck pick-up line: I’m getting indoor plumbing when I save up enough money.

Of course, personalities and age are not the only things that can be made fun of on t-shirts. Events are also great to make fun of. Marriages, anniversaries, retirement, holidays and vacations can all be turned into a joke t-shirt.

·    The Three rings of marriage: The engagement ring, the wedding ring, suffering
·    Warning: Retiree who knows it all and has plenty of time to tell you about it
·    When I go on vacation I bring back t-shirts. Sorry.
·    I’ve been married for 30 happy years. At least that’s what my wife keeps telling me.

T-shirts are a great way to joke with someone. Whether you choose to make fun of their personality, age, or even marital status the options are nearly limitless. Your shirt can be designed with or without graphics and in an array of colors. Your shirt can be as personal as you want it to be so you can enjoy the joke for years to come. You can have “inside” jokes on a shirt or simply chose one that you have already seen that works perfect for you little prank. Just be sure when you give the recipient the shirt that you know what their reaction might be. And make sure there aren’t any shotguns around!

How to Paint Baby’s Footprint on T-Shirt

Having a child is an emotional experience that many parents want to remember forever. The intense love and connection between a baby and his parents seems to put everything into perspective immediately. Parents are often left feeling a deep connection causing them to want everything for the little one and wanting to protect them from the cruelty of outside world. There is so much joy in being a parent that you may want to record how precious your child was. One really fun way to do that is by having your baby’s tiny footprint painted onto a t-shirt.

There are several ways to get your child’s footprint onto a t-shirt. Paint may be the easiest and most colorful solution. You will need fabric paint for this, other paints may not hold well and either bleed through or wash off the shirt making all your hard work useless. After selecting your color of paint and t-shirt you will need to prepare the shirt. It is a great idea to wash the t-shirt before doing anything to it. Washing the shirt will help keep it from shrinking later. Place the shirt flat on a solid surface such as a table or countertop. Put a piece of cardboard inside the shirt to prevent the paint from bleeding through and causing damage to the back.

After the shirt is prepared pour the paint onto a plate, preferable paper so you can through it out after. Dip your baby’s clean foot into the paint for a thick print. You can also run a small foam roller brush through the paint then over the baby’s foot for a print that isn’t too thick and is coated evenly. You may need someone to help you keep the t-shirt in place so it doesn’t move as you press the paint covered foot firmly yet gently onto the t-shirt. Pull the foot straight up keeping the t-shirt taught. Allow the t-shirt to dry according to the paint’s directions or for two days if there aren’t any instructions. You can also use the same method with ink instead of paint.

Another way to get the baby’s footprint onto a t-shirt is by scanning an image of the baby’s footprint onto a computer. You can use one you placed onto paper on your own, or use the copy from the hospital. After the image is scanned, you then print the image onto an iron-on transfer sheet. The transfer is ready to iron onto the t-shirt per the instructions. This is a fun way to put the footprint onto a t-shirt without having to be messy if you simply use the footprint the hospital provides.

Babies grow up faster than anyone can imagine. Those tiny feet and toes do not stay tiny long. Capturing the image of those little feet onto a t-shirt is a great way to remember those beautiful times with your little one. Footprint t-shirts are also a great present for grandparents, aunts, and uncles. Making a shirt for those that love the baby is an excellent way to share in your happiness and provides the wearer with a way to show off those tiny feet.

Custom T-Shirt Ideas for The Price is Right

As long as the Price as Right has been on TV, most people have dreamed at one time or another of going on the show. They might have a specific game in mind that they want to play, or they may want the chance to win a brand new car. Some people just want a chance to meet the host. If you’ve decided to go ahead and try to get to contestant’s row, you’ll need the perfect t-shirt to get there.

Choosing a t-shirt design to wear on The Price is Right is something that has become a tradition among contestant hopefuls. Will the right t-shirt get a person on the show? Who knows. It might not be the only reason that someone gets on, but it may end up being one deciding factor. What most people want to do is to get noticed and to be remembered by the staff of the show. This may make it more likely that the person is chosen to go on down and become the latest contestant.

The show does not allow people to wear business names across their shirt. They don’t want any copyright infringements or commercial names to be on the show for legal reasons. This leaves it up to the imagination of each person as to what will get attention and look great on a t-shirt. Some people choose to draw caricatures of the host, the models or all of them. This is a cute way to get attention from the show’s staff. It gives the host an opportunity to comment on the shirt if you are chosen.

Some people pick their favorite Price is Right game and illustrate that on their t-shirt. Or, they may simply name the game in big, bold letters to get a little attention. The t-shirt can also feature a drawing of a car to show everyone what it is they hope to win. A design that shows cash or another coveted prize may also do the trick.

A catchphrase from the show can also make a very memorable t-shirt. If you can’t think of one besides “come on down,” and you don’t want to use that one, watch the show a few times and notice the phrases that the host uses over and over. You may discover something that will make every bit as good a t-shirt as the more familiar catchphrase, but it will stand out more from the t-shirts that do use that saying.

The key to any Price is Right t-shirt is to make it brightly-colored and noticeable. The shirt’s design should be large so that it can be seen by the cameras. The host should be able to see it and read it from the stage. Use bright colors as well as large letters to make the design clear. Using a colored background with darker letters or lines may also make it more noticeable. With a bright, noticeable shirt that makes people smile, how can the staff resist putting you right up there in the game?

Customized T-Shirts Make a Great Gift

Give someone a real personalized gift! Their own customized t-shirt. It’s easy to craft a shirt unique to your friends and family.

You can put a name on any kind of t-shirt. Use shirts you’ve bought on your own and have names added or custom design shirts from scratch. Of course, having a personalized shirt is just fashionable, but it’s also useful. Named shirts are great if your kids are heading off to summer camp, private school or for gym class. When it comes time for their laundry to be sorted, there’s no question which t-shirt belongs to which kid.

We typically think of having names put over the left breast pocket area, but that’s not the only space for a monogram. Put it at the shoulder cuff on a short-sleeved T or at the wrist. At the top of the back collar is another good spot. Using a sports-jersey style name across the back shoulders is popular, too.

With an increase in casual wear at work, putting names and your business logo on shirts is a great way to be walking promotions for your business. Putting employee names on the shirts makes it easy for customers to know who they’re working with.

T-shirts customized with names make great personalized gifts. You can use them for groups or families. Every Christmas, Rose Baker makes matching pajamas for her family. Now that her children are grown and the number of grandchildren is growing, it’s become a real chore to make everyone pjs during the busy holiday season. So, she simply orders matching holiday t-shirts for everyone. She embroiders each family member’s nickname on the shirts. Rose gives them out on Christmas Eve and everyone wears their shirt when they arrive on Christmas morning for a family photo. One of her daughters has kept years worth of shirts. The family has a good time watching nicknames change as the grandchildren come up with new things to call everyone.

Want something special for a family photo? Try matching t-shirts with family members’ names or nicknames. These shirts are also great for special picnics and parties. Choose a theme like “Maddie’s 50th” or “The Siberian Club Annual Picnic” or “The Smith Family Reunion.” Design a special logo or choose one from an online library. Pick a shirt color and then add names for each participant.

Don’t limit yourself to having your own name on a t-shirt. It’s quite trendy wear “gas station attendant style” t-shirts with another guy’s name on it like “Larry’s Sunoco” or “Moe.” For women, try a Mel’s diner shirt that says “Flo” in the upper left pocket and “Kiss My Grits” on the back.

It’s easy to personalize t-shirts with names so what are you waiting for?

Custom T-Shirts for Casual Fridays

Ever wonder how you can inspire your staff to get into the spirit of Casual Fridays? Well, how about trying some custom-designed t-shirts?

Getting some custom-tees for your employees with your company logo or a catchy phrase or simply a Casual Friday message like “TGIF” is sure to delight everyone – if only for the fact that they can get out of their hose and ties and into a comfy tee. You may find that, no matter how corny they think matching t-shirts can be, almost everyone in your office will be happy to don a Casual Friday tee – the comfort alone makes the tee sell itself.

If there are a few stuffed shirts at the office who resist wearing a Casual Friday tee that the boss has designed herself, letting him or her choose the colors may help. Even compromising with a Henley or Polo shirt may help. You may then be able to work the reluctant clothes horse into something a little more comfortable!

It’s interesting to note how Casual Fridays got started in the first place. It began in the late 1950s when corporate leaders were looking for ways to raise morale. It took the 70s to roll around before many companies and their employees caught on. Many historians agree that the flooding of cheaply made clothing from overseas into US and Canadian department stores is what help make Casual Friday become so popular. In fact, many employees resisted dress-down day, because they didn’t have the clothes for it.

While the boss may not have intended to cause new wardrobes to be purchased, it was inevitable. Many folks wear old clothes around the house, the better to do chores such as mowing the lawn and mopping the floors in. While these may be the most comfortable clothes in the closet, they are hardly suitable for the office, even on Casual Friday. For some companies, Casual Fridays turned into Casual Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as well. The infamous dot-com companies encouraged casual wear to the point of shorts and sandals. That old Metallica tee wasn’t frowned upon, either.

These days, corporations are moving back to a more conservative approach to Casual Friday. While it is good for morale, most employers don’t want it to become a free-for-all. Using custom-designed tees for the weekly dress-down is a good alternative. Tees can be matching or complementary to each other; in fact, employees may be more apt to wear the t-shirts if they have a bit of a choice about which one they take home. If possible, offer two shirts to each employee. That way, they will feel that they have even more autonomy over their attire on a day that they are supposed to comfortable and dress like the people they truly are.

After all, most people are more relaxed out of the office than in it, and their clothes do reflect that. Not many of us are comfortable hanging around in a shirt and tie or skirt and suit jacket. We like to wear jeans, shorts, sundresses, etc… out of the office – these choices reflect who we truly are. So, offer your employees the option of a custom- designed t-shirt to wear for Casual Fridays – you’ll boost morale and probably get to know them better, too.

Whatever your favorite t-shirt is, make it a conversation starter. Your personality and style should be reflected in your clothing, so take the time to really enjoy it. Wear t-shirts that display your love or hatred of something and get the conversations started. It is much easier to talk when there is something to talk about. Don’t Lose the Kids! T-Shirts Show Family Unity

Going to any public place with your children, especially little children, can be nerve wrecking. It is difficult to keep an eye on them, especially if there is more than one under a certain age. It is a parent’s worst nightmare to lose a child. Even when they go out of your sight for a moment, your hearts go in your throat and adrenaline starts to pump and you are filled with that horrible feeling of dread. It drains out of you quickly the moment you see your little ones, leaving you feeling relieved, angry and scared for what could have happened.

This type of situation can happen every day, when you go to the grocery store or the library or the post office. In most of these places however, it is not so busy that it is difficult to find your children if you lose sight of them for a second. These are also not ideal places for child abductions because usually if such places are regular places you go with your children, the people who work there and frequent the place will recognize that a child is not with his or her parent. However, when you do special outings as a family to crowded, busy places, the risk of losing your child goes up dramatically. Not only is it easy for a child to get lost in crowds, it is also prime picking for child abductors. Such risky places include zoos, aquariums, theme parks, festivals, fairs and special events like Fourth of July celebrations.

There are so many different ways to try and prevent these types of situations. You can put a leash on your child. You can give them a good talking-to before going to the zoo, aquarium or theme park about the dangers of strangers and the dangers of leaving their parents’ side. You can force them to always hold your hand. However these things do not always work, and you end up running around, yelling and screaming the names of your kids and for them to come back here right now. As you do so, that horrible feeling of dread grabs you once again.

A great trick to try, that just may make special outings easier, is a set of Don’t Lose the Kids! T-shirts. You can have a custom-made matching set of T-shirts made for the entire family. This way it is obvious who belongs to whom, and you don’t have to wonder what color each child is wearing when you are visually tracking him or her. Use you imagination in customizing them. Remember you won’t be the only family with the same idea. You don’t want to get to a park and see that every family there has red T-shirts with black lettering. Get the kids involved to choose the color and find a design, pattern or something unique to help your set of T-shirts stand out in the crowds.

Make sure you don’t lose the kids whenever you are out and about by getting a great set of custom-made T-shirts for the whole family.

Guide to Team Sponsorship T-Shirts

Sponsoring a team isn’t just great advertising, it’s a way to build a positive reputation for your business or service. Most teams these days have sponsors- even children’s teams. A business can sponsor a team that plays any sport and comprises any age group and audience demographic. It’s also easy to do- most teams are actively looking for sponsors, so they will be able to handle many of the details that are involved.

If you’re looking into a local team, the word of mouth advertising that comes from it is invaluable, far outweighing the cost. Everyone who plays on the team, their families and everyone in the audience will see that advertisement. Local people will also see the sponsorship every time any member of the team wears one of the shirts. That is a great deal of advertising for one price, making it a valuable and cost-effective way to advertise. Casual, local teams are often very inexpensive to sponsor. To reach a wider audience, a larger budget will sponsor a more professional team. Most areas have enough sports teams that one can be found that will fit into every advertising budget.

To find a team that’s in need of a sponsor takes little more than asking around. Most people have family members or friends on local teams. If you don’t make any progress that way, call around to the local recreation centers and find out what teams play there. Many of them will likely be receptive to the idea of a sponsor even if they haven’t been actively looking for one. You might even check online to find local teams who are looking for sponsors.

If you want teams to come to you, you can place your own advertisements for a team that needs a sponsor. You can post flyers in places that will accept them or you can display them in your own business. You can also put your own ad in the paper for teams needing sponsorship. Word of mouth also works well when looking for a team. By simply putting the word out among friends and employees, you may hear back about several teams that could use a sponsor.

When you find a team in need, getting to the sponsored t-shirts is a simple process. Usually the team itself will already have a t-shirt design or an idea for one. From there it’s just a matter of agreeing on the size of the sponsored ad and what it will look like. The captain of the sports team will usually find out the sizes needed for the shirts and will provide you with the quantity needed. If each shirt will be personalized, the captain should also provide that information. From there, getting the t-shirts printed is simple. The internet makes getting the proper design onto a shirt an easy process that leaves little room for error. The small investment that is provided is turned into a large and positive advertising force that benefits both the community and the business being advertised.

Matching T-Shirt Ideas

Matching t-shirts aren’t just for the Doublemint Twins. They’re popping up more and more on the backs of families, friends, teammates, and lovers. Why? Dressing alike promotes unity among the wearers, and T-shirts are affordable and customizable. Here are just a few groups drawn to matching T-shirts:

Families:
Outfitting each family member with a matching T-shirt promotes unity. (That is, if everyone wears them willingly). If the Smith family shows up at a reunion, holiday event, amusement park or vacation spot in matching T-shirts that say “Team Smith,” they’re in effect saying “this is a family that works together and has fun together.”

Dressing alike for family portraits is one thing, but finding a T-shirt that suits a family full of different-sized people with different personalities isn’t easy. One way to get everyone on board is to make them a part of the process. Get everyone’s input on color, fabric, slogan, and logo before you buy. Also, take into account that women might prefer a different cut than the guys. The shirts won’t be exactly the same, but you can still have a unified theme.

Teammates:
Sure, athletes dress alike on the field, but the hours spent forging a team spirit sometimes trickles off the field as well. You’ll often find teammates from a variety of sports wearing matching T-shirts in the off-season. Sometimes they do it to commemorate a particularly memorable past season, to celebrate school spirit, or to promote the fact they all went to sports camp that summer.

Often these shirts reflect school colors and are emblazoned with inside jokes that only those “who have been there” would understand. The backs of these shirts often feature the players’ nicknames, which are often equally obscure in meaning.

Groups of friends:
Others order T-shirts to remember a shared event. Pat S. And his friends braved a trip to Key West during a serious storm warning for that area. So they commissioned a dozen shirts emblazoned with “Hunkered Down and Liquored up in Key West!” and wore them en masse to the clubs that night.

Other groups opt for matching T-shirts to promote a cause or identify who they are. One church group from Savannah did both when they all wore matching T-shirts during a two-week humanitarian stint in Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina.

Lovers:
Ah, young love. A time of walking on air, whispered endearments, and goofy smiles. It’s also a time when it’s perfectly OK to outfit yourselves in matching T-shirts proclaiming your feelings for one another. Kevin and Jane bought light blue T-shirts with each other’s names on the backs. They weren’t publicly affectionate, but they didn’t have to be.

Of course, donning matching T-shirts isn’t just for young lovers. Older couples like to dress alike too – only they usually prefer track suits. And that’s another article for another time.

In summary, matching T-shirts can be corny, kitschy, or cool. It all depends on what they look like, and the attitude of those wearing them. The important thing to remember is that no one wants to wear an ill-fitting T-shirt in an unflattering color, so make sure you pick a style that suits everyone.

T-Shirts Are All the Craze for Casual Friday

Many companies offer Casual Fridays to their employees. On Casual Friday, the dress code is much less strict. You can wear jeans, for example, or maybe shorts, instead of your usual slacks or skirt and collared, button-down shirt or blouse. Some offices might allow open-toed shoes on Casual Friday. Some might limit the casual day to khakis or sneakers. At most offices, though, Casual Friday will allow you to wear a t-shirt on that one day of the week. Wouldn’t it be fun to get some custom t-shirts made just for the office?

If you’re looking for simplicity in your wardrobe and don’t mind doing laundry once a week, you could just make one Casual Friday t-shirt for yourself. It could say TGIF, for “Thank Goodness It’s Friday,” or maybe “Counting the Minutes Till 5pm.”

If you’d like to make more than one t-shirt, the options are endless. You could include a joke about Casual Friday, like, “I work so many hours that this stupid t-shirt is the only thing I own that’s not a suit.” You could boast about your weekend plans with logos like “Goin’ Fishin’,” or “My other t-shirt is a sailboat.” Your t-shirt doesn’t have to be about Casual Friday, or even about the weekend. If you don’t want to cause a stir, you could just design a t-shirt with your office logo on it, and maybe your name on the back.

You can also get together with some coworkers to brainstorm ideas for Casual Friday t-shirts. You can get new ones every couple months or so, perhaps. Or, you could make t-shirts for each other, with the slogans or logos being a surprise.

If you are an employer who wants to put Casual Fridays into effect, maybe you are worried about enforcing the more casual dress code. There are still rules, after all, like no open-toed shoes, perhaps, or no sweatpants. Sometimes, though, it is more of a challenge for employees to respect the dress code when it is Casual Friday. Many times, once the rules are stretched a little bit, the entire dress code goes out the window completely. One option for preventing this kind of thing without being a “mean boss” might be to have t-shirts made for your employees for Casual Friday. Making the dress code for Casual Friday simple but specific might seem lame, but it actually takes the pressure off of people the same way a less strict dress code does. If you know that when you wake up on Friday morning you can just throw on your jeans and company t-shirt, you have much less to worry about than if you had to put a whole suit or dressier outfit together. So matching t-shirts would still be a break—and don’t forget, everyone loves getting free stuff!

Whether you’re making t-shirts just for yourself or for the whole department, consider custom design for Casual Fridays. You can bring some creativity and humor into the end of the week, for a price that won’t break the budget.
