Everything about t-shirts. How t-shirts are made, history of t-shirts and t-shirt printing methods.

What Is The Difference Between Heavyweight And Lightweight T-Shirts?

T-shirts come in a wide variety of different forms. They are available in all different colors, quality, sizes, styles, fabric and designs. There are even differences in the weight of T-shirts. T-shirts that are over 6 ounces are referred to as heavyweight. Lightweight ones weigh less than 6 ounces. There are a variety of reasons to choose one over the other, but for most people it is simply a personal preference.

Heavyweight T-shirts are not only meant for colder weather. Typically heavyweight T-shirts are of better quality than lightweight ones. For most people, especially those in professional jobs, heavyweight shirts are ideal for work, because the cover up chest hair, tattoos and the like. Such shirts also tend to look nicer and hold their shape better, so they are even appropriate for workplaces that stress business casual as the dress code. They are also the best choice in T-shirts for dressier occasions. Heavyweight T-shirts are also perfect for use as work uniforms because they hold up better to constant washing and wearing than do lightweight ones. You can also get away with wearing heavyweight T-shirts in larger sizes than lightweight ones, therefore you can cover up body flaws a little more easily.

Lightweight T-shirts are great for warmer weather. They are thin enough to help you to stay cool. For working out or playing sports, lightweight tees are the choice of many. They work great as cover-ups for the beach or as nightshirts also. They are also great under other layers of clothing as an undershirt, as they do not add bulk. If you happen to like the layered look of one T-shirt on top of another, lightweight tees are definitely the way to go. These T-shirts typically have a softer look than their heavyweight counterparts. They also drape the body in a more flattering and alluring way. However, if you wear a lightweight T-shirt that is too big for you it will not look attractive at all.

Lightweight T-shirts also tend to be less expensive than heavyweight ones. As such they are a great choice if your group is choosing to do a T-shirt giveaway for a special event, especially a one-time occasion. T-shirts that are seasonal like Halloween tees or Independence Day tees do well in lightweight cotton as they have a limited period of time in which they will be worn.

You can have both lightweight and heavyweight T-shirts customized anyway you wish. You can have a design-based t-shirt made up like the very popular “I heart something” tees or “Eat, Sleep, Whatever”. You can also choose to put a picture or a design that you like on a custom shirt. T-shirts are a great way to show pride, what you enjoy doing, the causes you believe in, the groups you belong to, special events you attend and much more. The list of things you can put on a T-shirt of either weight is endless.

Battle of the Sexes T-shirt Ideas

Battle of the Sexes has become a very popular game that is played on radio and TV shows, at parties, colleges, variety shows and much more. You can easily take a somewhat uneventful game of trivia and turn it into a challenging and exciting contest by doing a Battle of the Sexes version. Such games are enlightening, funny and entertaining for both the players and those listening to or watching them.

Doing a Battle of the Sexes match is actually quite an easy thing to do. You separate men and women into two different teams. You can even play it with just one man and one woman. Typically women are asked questions that every man would be expected to know. Men are asked questions that most women would know. Therefore the female team would probably have questions based on tools, sports trivia, hunting and other masculine pursuits. The male team would get questions based on things like make-up tips, clothing trends, chick flicks, wedding planning and other female-dominated areas. The questions are asked to each team in turn. They get points for a correct answer, but if the answer is incorrect, the opposing team can steal the question and points by correctly answering it. The side with the most points wins.

Battle of the Sexes is hilarious to watch or listen to from the spectator’s point of view, because everyone can feel affiliation for one team or the other. Since we are all men or women, we have a natural urge to root for the team of our own gender. It is also lots of fun for those who play it, especially if they happen to be an atypical player who knows a lot of trivia that is common to the opposite sex. Half the fun is in the fact that nothing is more natural that competition between the sexes.

If you enjoy a good Battle of the Sexes match, say so in a custom-made Battle of the Sexes T-shirt. You can have one made in any of a number of designs. You can simply state something like I love Battle of the Sexes or you can go for a design based tee that says “Eat, Sleep, Battle of the Sexes” or one of the many other popular designs available. If you want a truly unique shirt, you can choose your own line to have printed on it. Below are some fun suggestions:
–    I’d rather be playing Battle of the Sexes
–    Battle of the Sexes rocks
–    I’m a Battle of the Sexes champion
–    I’m a POW in the battle of the sexes
–    Nothing beats a good battle of the sexes
–    Master Battle of the Sexes Player
–    There’s nothing better than a Battle of the Sexes
–    Proud member of a Battle of the Sexes team
–    I didn’t win the Battle of the Sexes but I will win the war.

Event T-Shirts Are a Must!

Ever go to a concert and realize that all the roadies are wearing matching t-shirts? They do this for a couple of reasons. One, so they are easily identifiable to security as people who are allowed backstage. Another reason for them to wear matching outfits is so that members of the band or performance troupe can easily find them if they need help. Yet another reason is to foster a feeling of unity and of being on a team; everyone is there, working together, to make sure the concert comes off without a hitch.

What about a charity walk or marathon run? Event coordinators will almost always be found wearing matching tees. Some of the same reasons apply for the coordinators and volunteers to wear the same t-shirts. They allow security (if present) easily see who should be where, and who can go behind the yellow tape. Matching tees also make it easy for participants in the event to find officials if they need assistance of any kind. Sometimes, event coordinators will have the volunteers’ specific duties printed on the backs of the shirts, like “Volunteer”, “Refreshments”, “Security” and so on.

Even events such as a family or class reunion can offer matching t-shirts relating to the occasion. For the family reunion, the front of the tee can include the family name, crest (if one is known), and the date and location of the reunion. The backs of the tees can sport everyone’s names, or simply their role in the family. Examples are “Dad”, “Grandpa”, “cousin” or “brother”, to name a few. Folks who attend a class reunion may also enjoy a t-shirt commemorating the event. The school mascot, name, slogan, or school song can be put on the tee; the backs could have something about each person’s experience. “Homecoming Queen”, “Most Likely to Succeed”, “Lives Farthest Away”, or “Most Kids” are all examples of what can be put on the back of these shirts.

A commemorative t-shirt is another situation where matching tees can be found. Whether it’s a motorcycle ride or a trip to the fair, you can usually find tees designed for the event in question. These t-shirts will help you remember the fun you had participating in the occasion, and can also be a way to meet up with other people who may have also attended the event.

Even a bachelor/bachelorette party or wedding rehearsal can have matching tees. Printed in the wedding colors, they might have the happy couple’s names, date and time of the wedding, or even the location. The backs of the t-shirts can have “Bride”, “Groom”, “Mother of the Bride”, “Best Man” etc… on them. Tees can also be bought that have a tuxedo or gown design printed on the front. The possibilities are almost endless, and the novelty of a wedding t-shirt will be something everyone can enjoy. Plus, the tee will be something that everyone can keep to remember the event.

So, no matter the occasion, designing and wearing matching t-shirts are a great way to not only remember the event, but can also foster a feeling of being part of a team, family, or social group.

Support Your Hero T-Shirts Help Save the Day.

A hero can be anyone who does something courageous and that we look up to. It can be a friend, family member, teacher or even a whole profession like firefighters and policemen. A hero doesn’t have to be someone who does something that we typically think of when we hear the word hero. It can be someone who saves a child from falling through the cracks of social systems that don’t work well. It can be a parent who works double and triple jobs to keep the family fed and sheltered. It can be a friend who gives everything she has to make sure others don’t want for anything. It can be the child who tries hard and doesn’t give up despite injury or sickness.

Heroes are everyday people who do things in an extraordinary way. They do more than is expected of them and more than most people in the same situation would do. Heroes are people we look up to and respect and aim to be like. They are people that we point out to our kids and others that it would in their best interest to be like. Heroes make life a little more worth living.

There are many ways to show your hero that you support them and are in awe of them. You can do it with a card, an award, a gift, a newspaper article about them or by vocalizing your pride in them at a public event. However, on a day to day basis, a steady, fun and encouraging way to support your hero is by wearing a T-shirt that says that he or she is your hero.

You can get a custom-made T-shirt made stating who your hero is and why. You can add pictures of the person; maybe even some action shots. What could be more heartwarming than to see your name and face on someone’s T-shirt as their hero? Often we don’t even know that we are someone’s hero, unless we have done some flashy act, like saving his or her life.  However, for people in professions where caring is an important part of their job, often they get burnt out and feel like they make no real difference in anyone’s life. By learning that they do make a difference and that they are a hero to someone can make a huge difference.

For anyone who feels that an entire profession is heroic, a T-shirt saying so is a great idea. If you feel that way, there are certainly other people who share the feeling. If you have hero T-shirts made up to sell as part of a fundraising campaign for the group, you get several bonuses. You can contribute the raised money to the group, you can rally their moral with the support T-shirts and you can make them aware that they are truly heroes, all of which are important things to anyone.

Get your Support your Hero T-shirt today and let your hero and everyone else know how proud you are of that person.

Show Your Community Concerns in a Community Activist T-Shirt

Being a community activist shows true dedication to a cause. It is simply a person who works towards a local cause, usually something of a political nature that they believe in. He or she may try to have a local law changed because they believe it will improve life or help people. It can be campaigning to change zoning for a school or to stop a school closure. Often community activists work toward the goal of stopping or starting development, to either help the economy or preserve their community. Sometimes their concern is the local environment. They also show support for legislation and work towards helping to raise awareness and get it passed, when it is for the good of the community.

It takes a lot of hard work to be a community activist. It means having to increase public awareness of the issue that is concerned. You have to talk to people, organize events, do publicity and mobilize others to join the cause. It may include protests, demonstration, picketing or organizing boycotts. You have to communicate with politicians and the powers that be through letters, blogs, petitions, and any other way you can.

Community activists show that things can get changed if citizens get involved. They have succeeded in keeping big discount store chains out of certain shopping districts, in order to keep their neighborhoods quiet and smaller storeowners from being run out of business. They have succeeded in getting stoplights, stop signs, reduced speed limits and other traffic law changes in places they considered dangerous. They have gotten environmental problems cleaned up and prevented further pollution of rivers, lakes and other bodies of water. Activists have played a major role in blocking laws that were not in the best interests of the community.

Having custom-made T-shirts for your community activism is a great idea. You can have them made with the slogan of your cause, pictures of the problem and a list of things your cause will improve or save. You can get a shirt with a call to action on it describing the situation and saying “Write your elected official today” or “sign our petition” or “vote a certain way”. You can even have a variety of shirts made that cover different points. Such a tactic will create interest, make people think and consider things that they wouldn’t otherwise.

Often community activist campaigns can get costly. Having signs made up, running ads, making banners and flyers and other things can add up quickly. It is important to have some sort of fund generating system in place to help cover the costs. Selling custom-made T-shirts about your cause can be just the right thing. It will get you added exposure, at the same time it raises money. Make some simple ones that say something like “I support the River Cleanup Amendment” or “Keep our community safe.” Be sure to have some flashy ones made too with more controversial or disturbing statements, because there will surely be people who will want those also.

Get a community activist T-shirt today and help to make a difference in your community.

Raise Your Voice…on a T-Shirt!

These days, there is a lot to think about in terms of politics. A lot of people, young and old, are taking part in efforts to better their communities and their world for the first time. There are lots of ways to get involved with political activism, no matter what issue you’re most passionate about.

One great way to let people know about the issues that matter to you is to design a custom t-shirt that includes information or attention-grabbing content about your issue. If you care about the environment and want people to become educated on how to live in a way that is more environmentally conscious, then what better way to get the ball rolling than by emblazoning a t-shirt with your message? A t-shirt is a great way to get people thinking.

Whether you’re walking by strangers on the street or hanging out with friends and family, you’ll be able to grab people’s attention with a t-shirt more easily than with a speech. Also, people might feel more welcome to ask you questions or just write down the information on your t-shirt. Sometimes people can be turned off by someone getting up on the proverbial soapbox and preaching at them about this issue or that. People might react in a more open-minded and positive way if you’ve got a friendly and funny message on a t-shirt that you then back up with solid information, like a web site they can visit for more information, or a short list on the actual t-shirt that can get them started living a greener life.

This idea of putting your message on a t-shirt also applies to politics. If there is a candidate that you feel strongly about, you can do the campaign a lot of good by designing a cool, unique t-shirt displaying your support. I recently did this, and get comments and questions all the time from people who like my t-shirt and want to know more about my feelings on the candidate. Sometimes getting people involved in politics just takes a little work at making the whole thing seem more accessible. People sometimes feel that they are not educated enough on the issues to make a choice to support a candidate. Even if they vote, they stay away from any kind of campaign support, or from talking about the candidate with other people. They are not confident enough to start a discussion with strangers or friends.

Even though t-shirts seem like a silly place to start, they are actually a great way to make people feel comfortable engaging in a dialogue. If the issue is important to you, or if you really want to get people to vote for your candidate, then a t-shirt is a great way to start. If you are in a group that’s going to protest or support a cause or event, t-shirts are a great way to display your solidarity and your purpose. As school kids famously say, “It’s a free country.” So act like it!

Save the Boobies! Breast Cancer Awareness T-Shirts

Do you know someone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer? How about someone who has been affected in any way by the disease? People all over this country are affected every day by breast cancer. Not just the women who are diagnosed with it, but their families, friends, coworkers, and everyone connected to them. When a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer, it is frightening news not just for her but for her husband and children (if she has them), her parents and siblings, her friends—male or female—and anyone else who cares about her. Parents may even worry about their female daughters who will grow up to be women and be susceptible to breast cancer someday.

What many people who have been affected by breast cancer agree upon—whether their loves ones beat the cancer or did not—is that finding a cure is the most important thing we can do. Searching for a cure involves raising a lot of money and forwarding science until we reach a day when women and their loved ones won’t have to live in fear of this deadly disease.

There are many ways to support the search for a cure for breast cancer. You could do a breast cancer walk, in which you raise money by getting people to sponsor your walk. You then join with hundreds or even thousands of other supporters in symbolic walk to fight breast cancer. These events are very inspirational, and call much-needed attention to the urgent issue of breast cancer research.

One other way to display your passion for the search to end breast cancer is to design your own custom t-shirts that highlight the message. This way, you can control what you say to the public, whether it’s just people you’re passing on the street, or an audience waiting to hear you speak about breast cancer. There are lots of different ways to design the t-shirts. If your main goal is to get people thinking, then you might want to think up some slogans that really catch the eye and set the mind to work. One liners can often be the most thought-provoking way to grab people’s attention. Just make sure that you stand by the meaning of your slogan before you put it on a t-shirt.

Another angle you can take when designing your t-shirt is to try to inform people about breast cancer. You have to be careful not to put too much information on the t-shirt, though—you want passersby to be able to read it, after all! So choose what you feel are the most important or most illustrative statistics or facts about breast cancer, and highlight them on your t-shirt. This might do just as well with grabbing people’s attention and alerting them to how devastating breast cancer can be. Sometimes people need an example to really be inspired to get involved and make a difference.

However you go about it, don’t hesitate to get out there in your t-shirt and let people know about this cause that is so important to all of us.

What Makes Some Cotton T-Shirts Softer Than Others?

The search for the absolutely perfect cotton T-shirt continues. T-shirt wearers around the world seem to be endlessly searching for that ideal T-shirt that is so soft and comfortable that you never want to take it off. They want a cotton T-shirt that also fits perfectly, never fades, looks great on everyone and never shrinks. Some things are practically impossible to find in a T-shirt while others are quite possible. The super soft cotton T-shirt definitely does exist and is surprisingly easy to find.

While almost all T-shirts are made of cotton, what makes some of them much softer than others? You can pick up 2 almost identical T-shirts and they can feel very different to the touch. The difference can be attributed to a variety of factors. Quality of course makes a huge difference. You must also pay a premium for quality. Therefore expect more expensive T-shirts to be softer, while cheaper ones will be less so.

One of the main factors is the type of cotton your T-shirt is made of. Cotton grown in certain areas of the world such as Egypt, Arizona and other places is softer than that of other areas, because the cotton fiber can grow longer than usual under ideal conditions. These long fibers that result from a longer growing season can then be made into very fine yarn which produces the softest of fabrics. These extra long fiber cottons are amongst the highest quality cotton on the market. Soft cotton shirts are typically a sign of high quality.

Another thing to look at in terms of the quality and softness of a T-shirt is the thread count. If the tee is made of high quality fabric, it is likely to be 200 plus count, referring to the how many threads make up an inch of the material. The higher the thread count, the better in terms of quality and softness, however you can also have high thread counts without the quality. So beware, finding high thread counts may not mean that you have a soft T-shirt on hand. However, a general rule of thumb is that fine thread means a soft fabric.

Special techniques also ensure extremely soft cotton fabrics. Combed cotton helps to remove any remaining tough fibers before cotton is spun into thread. This is typically a more expensive type of cotton, though it is definitely softer than the average. It is well-known that T-shirts made of combed cotton are softer and more luxurious than many other T-shirts on the market.

If you are ready to find a perfectly soft T-shirt, try ordering a custom-made T-shirt. You can choose the color, style, quality, cut and design that you want. You not only get a great shirt that is soft and comfortable, but you can have it say anything you want it to. You can customize a great shirt for every occasion you can think of. You can show pride, beliefs, passions and more with a custom-made tee.

Get your perfect T-shirt custom-made today for the ultimate in luxury and comfort.

Advertising Business Grand Openings with T-Shirts

When a new business opens, it’s important to attract as much attention as possible to get new business from the community. If the business sits there month after month without customers, it won’t be long before it fails altogether. To get attention, a big grand opening is called for. It should be an opening that attracts people not only for the business, but for what they get out of coming to the opening. Once they come for a freebie, they’ll stay to see what the store has for sale.

One great freebie is a grand opening t-shirt. Everyone loves free t-shirts. Most people will go out of their way to get a free t-shirt, even going to a business that they would not ordinarily have gone to. This brings in customers that might never have come to the business on their own. And after they’ve been there, they know where to go when they need the items for sale there. That makes free t-shirts a smart business move for any grand opening.

Not only will the business benefit from the new customers that are brought in to receive the t-shirt, but those t-shirts will also serve as long-term advertising. People will wear those shirts for years. And in the case of single men, they’ll wear them for decades. That means that every shirt you give away will be out there, advertising your business name to everyone who sees the shirt. That advertisement will be seen at the movies, at grocery stores, at the gas station and at school. Nowhere will be safe from your advertising. That’s a sure sign that this is one of the very best advertising techniques.

Advertising the free t-shirts is a great way to interest people, but once they’re there, there should be enough t-shirts for everyone. The t-shirts should be available in every size and for men, women and children. Having the t-shirts available and in a size that will fit will allow the customer to trust the business and believe that they will deliver on a promise. It also ensures that everyone who comes will be walking away with a t-shirt that they can actually wear. If they can’t wear it, it isn’t going to be good advertising sitting in a drawer.

To make the grand opening an extra special event, the employees can also have customized t-shirts. These t-shirts can have information about the new business, its hours and what that business can do for its customers. These t-shirts can answer some of the questions that customers have. They can also remind new customers about the store name and some of the best features of the store. These shirts can be used to drive home the messages that you want to convey about the business. That might be discount prices, professional services or a large selection. Whatever the angle, the customers need to hear about it. Having a sign is one thing, but having a numb

All-Star Tees for All the Stars on Your Team!

Anyone who participates on a team – whether it’s athletic or academic – works hard to do his or her best. Whether it’s Little League or Pop Warner, or organized school teams, kids everywhere dream of being the best. And some are.

Many sports and academic organizations have All-star games or even leagues. Participation is by invitation only, and often players have to try out to earn a spot on the elite team. Extra practices are usually required, as well as more extensive traveling, sometimes overnight. Exhibition games may be played, and for older teams, working with and/or mentoring younger players may also be included. With great power comes great responsibility, as Spiderman says, and these talented players are not only expected to play well, but to be good examples to others both as athletes and as human beings. They receive not only the rewards of playing with others who as talented (or more so) than they are, but they usually get lots of perks, as well. Trophies, recognition, gifts, even trips to exotic locales to play the final games (think Little League and the NFL All-Star game in Hawaii, here) are all examples of these perks.

Another perk that these elite can receive is a t-shirt proclaiming their superiority. They should be proud of their accomplishments, and wearing an all-star tee can help them share their athletic prowess with the rest of the world. Kids especially should be proud when they are the best; it builds their self-esteem and helps them stay confident in themselves. Being the best reflects the hard work they’ve done, and they deserve to show off a little. Why not with an all-star tee?

Not all All-stars are athletes, however. Some are so new to life that their horizons are wide open. I’m talking babies, here, folks! What new dad or mom hasn’t gazed lovingly down at that cute little face and imagined him or her as a future supertalent? A cute little onesie or baby tee with “Future All-Star” on it is just the thing for this new little person. Since a baby’s life is a blank canvas, he or she can grow up to be anything. A tee for baby like this shows the world that mom and dad are ready for anything, and that they believe in their child’s possibilities. Grandparents can get in on the fun, with tees that show a baby golfing, fishing, running, playing football, etc…with the words “Grandpa’s (or Grandma’s) Little All-Star”.  Parents, grandparents, and other family members truly need know no limits here!

All-Star teams aren’t limited to athletics, however. Academia also has its share of All-Star teams. Chess clubs, debate clubs, and even Scrabble players have All-Star team events. While not relying on the power of their bodies, they rely on their more important muscle – their mind – to showcase their abilities. Sending off the debate team All-Stars to a regional or even state or national competition with All-Star team tees will give them an extra edge – they’ll be mentally prepared of course, but having team t-shirts can unite them even more.

No matter the type of All-Star – athletic, future, or academic, the All-Star in your life needs an All-Star tee!

Appreciate Your Volunteers with a Cool Tee

At almost any public or private social function, there will be folks who need help. They may want to know where to park, where to check their coats or umbrellas, where to find the restroom, and where they can change the baby. They might want help with purchasing tickets, finding seats, or understanding just why the baby gorilla is playing with its dung. All of these questions are important, especially to the person asking them, and it is usually the volunteers who come to the rescue. At fancy places like museums, they are called docents, the symphony hall calls them ushers, but most people just call them by what they are: volunteers.

A volunteer tee is truly a must for any social occasion that will rely on volunteers to see it through to completion. A public race like a fun run or marathon, a charity event, or a cultural fair all need volunteers to help make everything run smoothly. Not only should these people be recognized for their dedicated service and hard work and support for the event or organization, they make them easily recognizable to the public or attendee at the function. Folks WILL have questions, and they will search for someone to answer them. Clothing your volunteers in matching tees that make them stand out a bit from the crowd will help your guests find them and get the help they need.

The larger the event, the more important it is for your volunteers to be easily identified. While large events like fairs and expos and such have many hired helpers for jobs such as security, food services, and janitorial services, it may not be possible for all of your volunteers to meet and get to know these paid employees. Therefore, it is to the benefit of all workers – both paid and unpaid – for the volunteers to wear identifying tees. This lets everyone know that the volunteer isn’t just a guest or visitor trying to sneak around back stage or behind the scenes to sneak a peak at a celebrity or other interesting yet private aspects of the event. These volunteer tees will allow your volunteers move freely through the event both among the guests and public attendees and behind the scenes – literally wherever their help is needed most.

Another place that one would find a lot of volunteers is at a school. Nearly every public and private school relies on a core group of volunteers to help things run more smoothly. Whether through day-to-day operations or at special events like school dances or festivals or other functions, volunteers help make everything go more smoothly. Why not show these folks (typically parents of the students attending the school in question) your gratitude by gifting them with a customized tee? You could include the school mascot, have the shirt done in the school colors, and then have the word “Volunteer” emblazoned across the back or at the breast pocket (or where one would be located!).

There are many uses for a Volunteer tee; you will find a way to use one, whether you are an organizer or a volunteer yourself.

Wear Your Accomplishments on Your T-Shirt

“This car climbed Mt. Hood.” “I’ve been to Heaven and it’s in the Poconos.” These are some examples of bumper stickers you may see on cars and trucks and vans as you drive around town. People have always wanted, since they discovered written language, to share their accomplishments with each other. They write about them. They sing about them. They put stickers on their cars, they tattoo themselves and they also wear them. That’s right, people wear their accomplishments right on their clothes!

Literally anything you’ve done can be put on a shirt. Finished kindergarten? Put it on a tee. Made it through your 25th year teaching kindergarten? Put that on a shirt. Wear it with pride; it’s something that not even all other teachers could do.

About to graduate with your PhD in mathematics? If you don’t want to wear a tee that shows off your amazing brain, I bet your mom or dad will. “My honor student is smarter than your honor student” is the line of thinking, here.

Did you just run a marathon? Simply crossing the finish line is reason enough to wear a shirt telling everyone about it, in my opinion. Participating in and finishing a race like this is not just about running; it’s about all the training that you’ve done; the stretching, the blisters, the early foggy mornings when you’d rather be in bed or sipping a second cup of coffee… Running in a race like this tells the world that you’re physically fit; you’re dedicated and have great self-discipline. You may also inspire someone else to get in shape to run in the next 5K!

Taking a special trip that includes something like white water rafting, rappelling, or riding a burro down into the Grand Canyon are activities that, once accomplished, deserve to be proclaimed to the world. These are all fun, exciting activities, and the doing of them should be shared. Putting these experiences on your shirt will spread the word to everyone who cares to look.

What to share your prowess with the fishing rod? Just landed the fish of your dreams? Wear a tee that says something like “Kingfish…He didn’t get away!”

Maybe you and three of your pals have just played in a golf tournament and won! That’s something to definitely put on your t-shirt. While you may have to wear a collared shirt on the course, changing in to a golf tee that shares your superiority with the world in the locker room is completely acceptable.

Have a child who’s going to the state spelling bee? Not only do THEY deserve a cool tee telling the world how smart they are, but so do you! While they may need to wear their “Sunday Best” while competing up on the stage, YOU can certainly wear a shirt that supports their talent and skill.

No matter what your accomplishments are, they are something to be proud of. Whether they are physical or mental, you deserve the recognition of others for a job well done.

Show the Love for Your Customers with T-Shirts

When an establishment has been in operation for at least one year, great things begin to happen. The business in question first and foremost typically decides to celebrate. They celebrate the fact that they’ve made it through the first year; they celebrate the fact that the whole thing hasn’t come crashing down around them; and then celebrate the people who have made it all possible – the customers!

If YOU are the owner of a business, be it retail, wholesale, service-oriented or restaurant, you are most likely most grateful to those folks who choose to darken your doors with their presence, and more importantly, with their cash. They are the life’s blood of your endeavor, and without them, you would be completely out of business. Literally.

Now that your first year anniversary has rolled around (or your 10th or 25th), it’s time to celebrate and thank the folks who have helped make it all happen. If you have a week-long celebration complete with giveaways, food and sale prices, why not order some Customer Appreciation tees for your staff to wear? You can include your company’s logo or design, the dates and the number of years you’ve been established. You could even have a “Thank-you” message printed, if you like. Put one of these shirts on every one of your employees’ backs, and they’ll be walking advertisements for how thankful you are for your customer and their continued patronage.

Of course, if you’ve been in business for awhile and things have really been in the black, you may want to include tees as a giveaway to your valued customers. Ordering t-shirts to show your appreciation of your customers will definitely make them feel like they are doing a great thing to help you out and frequent your business.

Any size business can do this; but it is probably more feasible for the larger ones. You may want to be able to offer t-shirts in various sizes, from a child’s small to XXL, and that can get pricey. However, order all larges and you can fit most folks who walk in the door. If the shirt is too big, they can use it as loungewear or even a nightshirt. If it’s too small, they may pass it along to someone else. (Maybe someone else who’s never been to your business; this might just get that newbies to step through your door!)

If you’ve put in a large order for tees, it might be a good idea to advertise them a bit. Depending on how many tees you want to give out, take out an ad in the paper, get on the local radio station, or just hand out fliers with each purchase. How much or how little you advertise is dependent on how many folks you want to come see you and your business. Remember that lots of folks will do just about anything to get a “free” prize or giveaway, and if all they have to do is come down and check out your business, you’ll probably get lots of new customers!

Whether you wear one yourself or give them away to your customers, customer appreciation tees are a great way to show your clients and customers how much their business really means to you.

Trick or Treat Done to a Tee

One of the most eagerly anticipated nights of the year is October 31, also known as Halloween. Ah, yes. Trick-or-treating, bonfires, costume parties, haunted houses, jack-o-lanterns–Halloween is a day that brings out the kid in all of us.

While many of us have or will donned a costume in honor of All Hallows Eve, a majority of us work at jobs that frown on wearing them to the office. The naughty nurse outfit might not go over well with the parents of your preschool students. And if you’re a brain surgeon, pretty much every choice out there is impractical (unless, of course, you choose to dress up like a brain surgeon.) However, there’s no need to limit your devotion to Halloween with just a pair of skull earrings or a jack-o-lantern tie pin–why not create and wear your own custom T-shirt?

Designing a unique T-shirt isn’t hard at all. All you need to do is come up with a decent idea, make it eye-catching, have it screened onto the size, type and color of shirt of your choice, and you’re good to go.

Here are a few ideas to get your started:

Ghoul’s night out
Fright crew
Witchy woman
It’s all about the candy corn
Vampires suck
I don’t do costumes
Halloween bites (good one for dogs)
Trick or treat, smell my feet (with footprints)
Love a first fright
I want candy–or else!
Gone batty
I’ve put a spell on you
Angel in disguise

A myriad of fonts are available for you to use–it’s Halloween! Nothing is too tacky or over the top. You can make your text look like it’s dripping, like it’s smeared, or like it’s carved into stone. Click around to get ideas and inspiration.

Now that you know what you want to say, it’s time to find a picture or two to help you say it better. Stuck for ideas? Here are the basic Halloween icons to get draw inspiration from:

*Witches hats, brooms
*Ghosts
*Zombies
*Mummies
*Spiders, cobwebs
*Skeletons
*Jack-o-Lanterns
*Candy corn
*Vampires, stakes, bats
*Frankenstein, Wolfman
*Black cats

You should be able access all of these images somewhere online fairly easily. If you want to create something truly unique, however, it’s a good idea to have a conversation with the custom T-shirt manufacturer you plan on doing business with. Chances are they can help you, or can point you in the direction of someone who will.

Now that you have the text and design, it’s time to choose the shirt itself.

When it comes to the actual shirt, the obvious colors are black, white, or orange. Most online custom T-shirt dealers usually post a size chart on their websites–it’s important to read these–you don’t want to spend a lot of energy creating the perfect shirt, only to order the wrong size.

It’s a good idea to put your order in early–there’s probably plenty of people who are designing and ordering their custom T-shirt too, and you want to make sure your shirt is in hand before the first Halloween party of the season kicks off.

Lighten Up: Put a Positive Message on Your T-Shirt!

Are you sick of all the negative messages out there? It seems sometimes like all we see—in the news, on television, in movies—is negative media. We see violence and swearing and all kinds of negative behavior on television and in movies. People sometimes protest the negative content used in entertainment, but, sadly, we see a lot of the same stuff on the news. And even in everyday life, there can sometimes be an overwhelming feeling of negativity.

People feel cynical, for whatever reason—because of life experience beating them down, or because that’s how they see other people live their lives, or maybe just because they think it’s cool to not believe in anything.

But there’s something you can do about it! You don’t have to live with negativity surrounding you. None of us do! But those people who want to fight against negativity have to join forces and support each other through positive thinking.

The power of positive thinking is unbelievably strong. If you’ve ever been in a tough spot in life—feeling discouraged or overwhelmed or intimidated—you know how valuable a positive message of encouragement can be. Maybe you had a friend who told you, “You can do it!” or “The best is yet to come!” Or maybe your teacher told you, “Hang in there,” or “Tomorrow is another day.” Sometimes when life seems impossible, someone comes along and tells you just what you need to hear to get back into the swing of things.

Or sometimes, even when you’re not having a particularly bad day, you see a positive message somewhere—on a sign on the street or in someone’s window, on a bumper sticker, or from someone’s behavior—and your outlook on life seems to get just a little bit cheerier.

If you’ve experienced anything like this, you know how much a tiny positive comment can change your day, or even your life. Even when it comes from a stranger, the positive message can really ring true. Actually, sometimes a message of encouragement can be even stronger coming from a stranger because it comes as more of a surprise, and seems more like a universal sentiment, rather than an attempt by someone you love to make you feel better. Chances are the person who passed the positive comment on to you had no idea how much of an effect he or she was having on you.

So why not return the favor? It could take very little effort to send on the message of positive thinking to someone who needs it badly. Making a custom t-shirt with your favorite positive message on it could help a friend or a stranger turn their day around from hopelessness to inspiration. Choose a couple of the phrases or messages that you find to be most encouraging, illuminating, or just plain inspirational. You could put all of the phrases on one t-shirt, or you could make a couple different t-shirts to highlight your favorite phrases. Just think of yourself as the poster or the bumper sticker that could save someone’s day!

How Long Will a T-Shirt Last?

Worried that your favorite t-shirt’s days are numbered? That it’ll die a premature death? Worry no longer. T-shirts never die. Ok, they do eventually, but most of them will live a very, very long time as long as they are not worn every single day. But even if you do want to wear the same shirt every day, the t-shirt will still give you a few blissful months of comfort.

The more often you wear and wash a t-shirt, the more likely it is to wear out. The number of times that the shirt is dried in a clothes dryer also has a lot to do with how long it will last. Any shirt will last longer if it is laid flat to dry or hung up to drip dry rather than being put into a clothes washer. A shirt worn for only an hour or two may not need to be washed and dried at all. If the shirt can go without being washed every time it’s worn, it may last even longer.

A t-shirt that is worn rarely or only once every month or two can certainly be dried in a drier and still last a long time. A shirt in a smaller rotation of clothes, worn once a week and dried in a machine may only last a few months. A shirt that is worn more rarely will last for years or even longer. A shirt that is worn only once or twice a year for a specific type of occasion will last significantly longer than one that is worn weekly or monthly.

Taking good care of a t-shirt means not using bleach on it more than once or twice- bleach causes fabric to weaken and will create holes in it over time. When something is spilled on the shirt and you’re afraid it may stain, try to get the substance out of the fabric right away so that bleach will not have to be used. For a blood stain, soak the t-shirt in cold water immediately. This will take even large quantities of blood out without having to weaken the fabric.

To make the shirt last longer, use a gentle detergent and use slow agitation. This is a good guideline for any other clothing that you want to make last longer as well. A very harsh detergent and fast agitation can make the fabric thinner, weaken the seams and eventually cause holes in t-shirts and many other types of garments. Look for detergent that is made for babies or that doesn’t contain harsh fragrances.

Taking good care of a t-shirt will mean that it will last just about as long as you want it to. It is by no means unusual for a t-shirt to last for decades. If you’ve ever seen anyone wear a vintage t-shirt with a year on it, you have seen how long it is possible to keep a t-shirt. There may not be very many Roaring 20’s t-shirt still around, but there are probably plenty of Woodstock ones.

Custom Halloween T-Shirts Put the “OOOOO” in Boo!

Want a quick and easy Halloween costume for you or your children? Try Halloween t-shirts. They are great for kids of all ages who are heading out to trick or treat. T-shirts are an easy costume for your child’s first Halloween when they are often too tiny for expensive and involved costumes. Try a pumpkin t-shirt. Your little one will be comfortable and adorable. It’s also easy for you when it comes to changing diapers and cleaning up. Personalize the costume with their name. “Ashley’s 1st Halloween!” And, don’t stop there. Mom and Dad can get T-shirts to match and customize them, as well. “I’m Ashley’s Dad.” You will be the most adorable family in the neighborhood!
Other ideas for little ones include a t-shirt that looks like Cinderella’s giant pumpkin with a magic wand and tiara. The shirt says, “Pumpkin Princess.”

T-shirts are a simple costume for older kids and grown-ups who don’t want to put a lot of effort into dressing up for trick or treating or a Halloween party. Try a shirt with a rib cage on it. Or one with the shadow of a man doing martial arts that says, “Cheap Ninja Costume.” And, for those smart alec’s in the group, how about “I left my other costume with your mom.”

Online you can find a variety of pre-designed t-shirts. Look for shirts that will quickly make you look like a pirate, pumpkin, a disco diva, magician, or your favorite scary face.

It’s easy to design your own shirt, too. Take your own design or add your own text to any of the thousands of designs found in online libraries. Put your picture with “Trick or Treat” over it and you won’t have to say a word when you head out for candy.

Online and at fabric and sewing shops you’ll find easy patterns to make your own Halloween t-shirts. They are much easier than complicated costumes. It’s easy to iron or sew bits and pieces onto a simple t-shirt to create the perfect pirate, flapper, princess, wizard, or superhero.

Typically, you’ll find kids t-shirts for between $12-$15 dollars. Halloween t-shirts for adults are closer to $20.

In a time, when so much of our focus in on our troops fighting in Iraq, Halloween is a great time to show your support. Try a shirt with an American flag. And, for kids, there’s a new trend. Put your soldier’s picture on the shirt. Then, add “My mom/dad is fighting in Iraq. I deserve a treat.”

If you want to order the perfect t-shirt for Halloween, start shopping now. Go online and search for “Halloween t-shirts.” Once you select a site to go with, decide if you want to create your own or go with a pre-fabbed design. Pick a size and shirt style. Then, you can typically customize it with names and colors. You can see a proof of the shirt before you actually confirm your order. Expect it to take about two weeks to arrive. Then, all you need is a pumpkin for trick or treating!

Fit To Be Tight: The Important Difference between Fitted and Tight T-Shirts

Let’s say you’re shopping for the perfect shirt to wear on a vacation with your spouse or best friends – or maybe you’ve got a hot date tonight and you want to go for a casual yet flirty look that will knock his or her socks off. Seems almost impossible to pick out a shirt that’s both functional and affordable, right? Don’t despair, because today’s fashion trends have unleashed the perfect solution to your conundrum – the form-fitting t-shirt.

Perfectly suited for both men and women, the fitted t-shirt offers style, comfort and an understated yet sexy appearance that can easily take you from day to night. Fitted t-shirts are great for any size and shape, as these shirts can accentuate everything from a whittled waistline to curves that won’t quit. Better still, fitted t-shirts are easy on even the most squeezed budget, as they’re relatively cheap to make and come in inexpensive fabrics like cotton. What’s not to like about this classic wardrobe staple?

However, it’s important to note that when it comes to t-shirts, fitted is not synonymous with tight. Despite how similar these two concepts may seem at first, one kind of t-shirt can make you look great no matter what your size or shape, while the other is more unforgiving towards most average body types.

Want to make sure that you don’t fall into this potential fashion pitfall?

First of all, be sure to try on any t-shirt that you’d like to purchase, no matter how sure you may be of your size. Many department and clothing stores vary in what is considered a small, medium, or large, so when you make your selection, always take the time to try it on in the dressing room. After all, nothing is more annoying than having to take the time out of your busy schedule to return an item!

When trying on your selected t-shirt, be sure to examine how it fits on your body. Do a few jumping jacks, bend over, and shimmy around like you’re dancing. While you may feel temporarily embarrassed, a t-shirt that’s fitting your body just right will give you room to comfortably move around, while a tight t-shirt will make you feel as though you need to continually suck in your stomach! Also, check out how the sleeves fit around your arms – do the sleeves feel tight, or are they just snug enough? A fitted t-shirt will hug your body shape, but it won’t ever make you feel as though your circulation is being cut off. Additionally, a tight t-shirt will usually create the illusion of rolls on those of us with more than two percent body fat, while a fitted t-shirt will smooth over any trouble spots.

A fitted t-shirt will always make your body look and feel great, no matter what your size or shape. In fact, this fashion staple will not only make you look like a million bucks – it will make you feel confident enough to take on the world!

The “Short and Long” of T-Shirts – About T-Shirt Length

In order for you to look the best in your t-shirt, you want to find the most flattering length and style. There are so many styles available these days that it’s easy to find one that looks great on you. Here are some tips for finding just the right style of t-shirt.

Cropped t-shirts can vary in length, but generally they expose the wearer’s belly. They’re not designed to be tucked in. Cropped t-shirts can have any length of sleeve—from sleeveless or halter tops to long-sleeved. They’re definitely a style for more casual wear. In fact, many schools and offices have banned cropped t-shirts. And because they’re so revealing, they’re best for the young—or young at heart—to wear.

T-shirts that hit at the hip are more versatile and flattering. They can be worn untucked and still look neat. If the belly, hips, or behind are problem areas for you, you want to make sure that the t-shirt doesn’t emphasize what you want to hide. They can be dressed up or down for many different situations.

A tunic t-shirt can be a very stylish look. This style works especially well over a short skirt or slim-fitting pants. Tunic t-shirts can’t be tucked in without looking bulky. They’re left untucked to keep a sleek appearance. They’re sometimes made with shirttail hems to give the style more flair. Tunic tops go over the hips and cover a lot of problem areas. On those with thinner figures, they’re not so flattering.

When you look at different styles of t-shirts, you can also consider the sleeve lengths. Sleeveless t-shirts such as tank tops are good for athletic, warm weather, and casual wear. Some sleeveless tees that are made from a finer fabric and have a more conservative cut that are suitable for office wear.

Short-sleeved shirts are the most classic style of t-shirt. There’s a reason for that – they work in so many different settings and situations. This style of t-shirt can be worn as a layering piece under a blazer or sweater in cooler weather. It can also be worn on its own in warmer weather or for athletic wear.

If you’re self-conscious about your upper arms, you can go with a three-quarter length t-shirt. In recent years the three-quarter length has become a very popular style, and with good reason. It’s such a versatile style that offers enough coverage for office wear or conservative situations, but has a fresh, fun look, and keeps you cooler than a long-sleeved shirt.

Long-sleeved t-shirts can be an important piece in a cool-weather wardrobe. They offer maximum arm coverage for conservative settings or for when you need to stay warm. A very popular look these days is to layer a short-sleeved t-shirt over a long sleeved t-shirt. Some long-sleeved t-shirts made from finer knit fabrics with fun details such as a ruffled hem or neckline work well for dressier or office wear.

It’s important to build a wardrobe of t-shirts with styles that suit many different situations. As you can see, there are so many lengths and sleeve types to choose from, that choosing the t-shirt styles that fit your lifestyle can be fun and easy!
