How to Dress Like Orlando Bloom

Orlando bloom is a successful British actor, famous as much for his looks as for the roles he’s played. Orlando is known primarily for his role as the dashing Will Turner in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies as well as his character Legolas Greenleaf in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Young and handsome, Orlando has become not only a fixture in Hollywood but also a fixture in the tabloids and fashion magazines. He has a style that combines a trendy sensibility with a little bit of a bohemian attitude.

How to Dress Like Lucille Ball

In the 1950s, Lucille Ball was a pioneer in the world of television and fashion. She is best known for her role as a clumsy and goofy housewife in the hit series I Love Lucy. Ball did things on and off the set that made her what many considered a risk taker, but the end result was a loyal following of views for her show and the admiration of women everywhere. Even though she passed away two decades ago, Lucille Ball is still a much beloved icon and women everywhere like to dress like her.

When you think about dressing like Lucille Ball you can’t get away from her quirky character Lucy. Here is how to capture the essence of Ball:

•   Wear a shirtdress: A shirtdress buttons, like a shirt, from the collar to the waist. The garment flares out below the waistline in similar fashion to a poodle skirt. The waist is usually then covered with a belt. This is the classic outfit that Ball always wore on I Love Lucy. Remember that the show was on in a time where there was no color television and only black and white, so go with lighter colors or very dark colors when choosing solids. You can always spruce it up a bit and go for a shirtdress with polka dots as Ball sometimes did.
•   Pump it up: Lucille Ball made the look of pumps famous. Pumps are closed toed shoes that have a bit of a heel to them, but not too high. These types of shoes are the perfect complement to the shirtdress and the color should match the shirtdress. To get the full effect, wear pumps that have the toe come to a point rather that a rounded toe as Ball seemed to prefer this type.
•   Accessories: Like most women in those days, Ball went on the lighter side of jewelry. A simple yet elegant pair of earring and perhaps a small gold chin is about as risky as you want to go here. You can add scarves and even hair scarves that tie up your hair as Ball wore both quite often on the show.
•   Hair and make-up: Lucille Ball wore her hair up 98 percent of the time. Her natural curly hair made it look as though a red poodle was taking a nap on her head. That is probably why her style of hair cut is referred to as a ‘poodle cut.’ If you can, get a poodle cut and go for the complete look by coloring your hair a very bright red to match the fireyness of Ball. When applying your make-up, be sure to accentuate your cheekbones and use a bright red for your lipstick color as Ball did. She also had prominent eye lashes and eyebrows and you can replicate this look with an eye brow pencil and some false eye lashes.

The television show Gossip Girl is one of the most watched on television today among teens and young women alike and one of the most popular characters on the show is Vanessa Abrams. On the show Abrams is an aspiring filmmaker and her films and her sense of style are quirky and fun. Her relatable character has gained her many fans that all wish to dress like her.

In the books Abrams has a shaved head, wears mostly black, and is slightly overweight but in the television series she is slim, has long wavy jet black hair and is anything but a drab dresser. Here are some of the ways to achieve the Vanessa Abrams look for television:

•   Pants: on the show Abrams likes to wear a lot of tights. She will always layer on top of these tights but she usually starts with tights and goes from there. You can either go with black tights or a darker color pair of tights that has some sort of low key print on it as Abrams wears both on the show.
•   Mini-skirts: one of the more popular layers that Abrams like to use over top of her tights is a mini-skirt. These mini-skirts should come down to just below the buttocks and can be made of denim or any other material. Depending on the rest of the outfit the mini-skirt you choose can be black, white, or any color in between. Usually the mini-skirt will be dark colored to match the tights, but sometimes they can even be worn as a standalone without any tights.
•   Shirts and tops: Here again Abrams likes to layer her clothing. To get this look start with a regular and fun t-shirt and layer that with a jacket of some sort. Abrams likes to wear longer rain coat style jackets that are typically darker colored in nature and she will usually keep them closed up but only doing so with the tie and not actually the buttons. This seems to be more for fashion instead of function.
•   Shoes: Abrams tends to go for the black leather ankle high heeled boots and you can help yourself nail the look by getting a pair. If you like you can go with a pair that features a collard part on top as Abrahams frequents these on the show. Because they are black you will be able to wear them with a number of different Abrams outfits.
•   Accessories: Abrams like big purses and in this department she likes to go on the colorful side. You can get any type of larger handbag you like to add some flair to your outfit and don’t be scared of crazy looking patterns. Another big accessory that Abrams often sport is a scarf. Sometimes she goes with a solid color but you should feel free to go with a multicolored tie if you so desire as she has done both on the show. Anyone that has heard a song from the alternative rock band Paramore knows that Hayley Williams can belt out vocal like nobody else. She is known for her fun and punky way of dressing and her care free attitude goes great with her likeable personality. Perhaps that is why there are more and more young women these days that want to dress like Williams.

Dressing like Williams is not hard at all to achieve as she has not let fame get to her head like so many famous people do and continues to dress much the same as she did before she gained any notoriety. Here are some tips to help you dress more like Hayley Williams:

•   Jeans: In a classic punk style of dressing, Williams is always sporting a pair of jeans. When you choose your jeans you will need to go from fitting, but don’t go ultra tight. Choose darker colors like black and gray and stay away from the traditional blue as Williams never wears that color. If you go with a pair of jeans that has rips and tears in them, don’t go overboard. Williams rarely, if ever, has any rips or tears in her jeans.
•   Shirts: This is really easy and really wide open as well. •   Hair and make-up: Williams wears very little make-up so when you go to apply yours you have to be on the ultra conservative side. As far as her hair goes though, that is a different story. Williams always wears her hair down and she has sweeping bangs which isn’t really tough to mimic so long as your hair is long too. But to capture the true essence of Williams you have to go all out and color your hair. Williams is known for always having a bright and loud hair color such as orange or red and at times even has blonde highlighted throughout as well. Debbie Ryan is best known for her role on the Disney Chanel Original Series program, The Suite Life on Deck, which is a sequel to the Suite Life of Zack and Cody, in which Ryan plays the role of Bailey Pickett. Her lovable character coupled with her infectious attitude and winning smile has many young women now wanting to imitate the way she dresses. Her style is both fun and fashionable and is very easy to get so long as you go about it in the correct manner.

Jennette McCurdy is better known as ‘Sam’ on the hit television show iCarly that plays on Nickelodeon. Her witty banter on the show has her as one of the more popular characters and her everyday style pretty much matches her style on the show. Really she dresses much the same as many other teenagers that are her age do and it is probably for that reason that the future super star is so beloved and has so many other young ladies wanting to dress like her.

McCurdy has a very simplistic style and pulls off the all natural look with great ease. Here are some things you can do to dress like McCurdy:

•   Pants: As often as McCurdy is seen in a nice pair of jeans, most times she can be spotted in her favorite type of pants; Capri pants. When choosing yours go for a good fit, but don’t go too tight as McCurdy never does. She typically likes to go with capri pants that are darker in color and she always wears her Converse high tops with her capris.
•   Shirts: When wearing her capris you will see McCurdy wearing the typical t-shirts that most teenagers wear. The shirts range from tank tops to frilly shirts and everything in between. She tends to go with light colors on top so when you get your shirt make sure that you go with a lighter color like white. She has a very natural and simple look that is easily achieved which is probably why there are many young ladies these days that want to dress like her.

Meester always looks like your typical girl next door no matter where she is. Here is how you can achieve the look as well:

•   Dresses: Meester likes to wear a lot of dresses. The dresses she wears tend to be one solid color and the colors she likes to go with are more on the cheery side such as yellows, whites, and lighter blues. When choosing yours, go for dresses made of lighter materials and ones that cover you all the way down to the top of your knees. You can go sleeveless or sleeved as Meester likes both, but remember that you need to go for the more conservative style dresses.

Lady Gaga released her debut album called Just Dance in 2008 and her popularity has been booming ever since. She became so popular that her album has gone to number one in four different countries. Now she has a sudden surge of women all over the globe wanting to dress like her. If you are one of those women then you better be ready to dress bold and daring and be willing to show your legs off.

Lady Gaga has two distinct and unique looks that she goes with. One is wearing very revealing dresses and wearing other very revealing cloths. Here are some ways that you too can look like this music diva:

• Tops: Sometimes Lady Gaga’s tops are little more than a top that covers no more than a bikini. You can wear any number of types of tops to be like Gaga. You can go with a bra-style top, a tube top, or any combination of the two. Here are the rules; you have to always show your stomach, show plenty of cleavage, and the tops must be made of some sort of shiny material such as leather. Stick with darker colors that grab attention like dark blues, silvers, and of course black.

• Shorts: The operative word here is short. Lady Gaga like to wear short shorts and has very strong legs that she loves showing off. When you pick yours, go for ones that match the top you are wearing and be sure that the coverage you get is minimal. Really anything that covers more than your buttocks is too much if you want to pull off the Gaga look.

•   Dresses: Lady Gaga like to wear dresses that start out as tight on the top and come down to the waist area and puff out. Johnny cash was one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century and he was well known for his deep bass voice as well as his deep felt lyrics. Cash spanned many genres or music and was popular in country, blues, and rock and roll alike. Cash was so often seen wearing black that he actually earned the nickname ‘The Man in Black.’ This makes Cash’s style of dress probably the easiest to nail.

When you think about dressing like Johnny Cash only one thing should be one your mind; black. While he didn’t always wear black, he probably did over 95 percent of the time. Here are some simple ways that you can dress like Johnny cash:

• Shirts: Cash was most often seen in his classic button down collared shirts that were almost always black. Choose a shirt that is comfortable to wear and leave the first two buttons undone. If you do decide to stray away from black, stay with a very dark color or the look will be lost.

• Pants: You have just a bit more leeway her, but not much. Cash always wore black pants and they were either slacks or jeans, but always black. Make sure to go with a very classic look and style here and stay away from skinny jeans at all costs. A nice pair of loose fit boot cut jeans that are black does the trick every time.

•   Boots: Cash always wore cowboy boots and they too were black. He had been known to wear a darker brown pair a time or two, but for the most part he stuck with the old trusty black and you should as well. Don’t tuck the pants into the boots, but rather, pull the pants over the boots and let them hang down as this is how Cash did it.

•   Trench Coat: Towards his later years Cash could always be seen in his familiar black trench coat. Acquiring one for you would make a great touch to the look, but it isn’t necessary.

•   Accessories: Cash wore no accessories save an occasional tie. While you could carry an acoustic guitar around with you to better emulate him, an easier way is to do it with a cigarette. Cash was frequently seen with a cigarette dangling from his mouth. If you don’t smoke, don’t light it up, but it will definitely add to the Johnny Cash look.

•   Hair: Depending on which years of cash you want to portray will depend on how you should do your hair. His younger look will call for you to slick back your hair with some strong hair gel. If it is the later Cash look you are after, grow out your hair just a bit, brush it backwards and let the chips fall where they may so to speak.

Who hasn’t seen the classic movie night of the Living Dead? If you haven’t seen it, the movie features the ‘living dead’ or what are better known as zombies walking the streets in a quest for fresh brains. Once one of these zombies bit a living person, that person was quickly transformed into a zombie and they too began to roam the streets. Sound fun?

If walking amongst the living dead sounds like your sort of thing, here are some sure fire tips that will have you looking like a zombie:

• Shirts: Since the zombies were simply the living dead, they really wore whatever they died in. But to truly pull off the zombie look you want to go with a shirt that is dirty and tattered as this will show that you may have once been buried, but rose again to eat some brains. An easy shirt to use to pull off this look is a white long sleeved button down shirt that is half tucked in and half untucked. Unbutton the top two or three buttons and wear a dirty tie, just be sure it is tied loosely.

• Pants: Slacks do the trick here, especially with the button down shirt look. To get the authentic zombie look go ahead and tear one of the pant legs and tear it good. Be sure that the skin that will be exposed through the tear is dirty.

•   Shoes: A nice pair of dress shoes is the ticket and be sure that you leave at least one untied. Again, you have to be sure that the shoes are dirty and worn looking to give it the proper look. You don’t want to look grubby everywhere else and have sparkly clean shoes. Want to throw everyone for a loop, try wearing only one shoe. This gives the illusion that you lost one of your shoes rising from the grave, or perhaps because you were chasing down an unwilling brain donor.

•   Women: Alright those tips were certainly for the guys but there are surely ladies that want to dress like zombies too. Your look is even easier than the fellows. Simply get a nice looking sun dress or any other type of dress and make sure you get it nice and dirty. If you want to tear your dress in certain spots that is great and an easy tear to accomplish is a strap being sure to leave it dangle after tearing. You will have more skin showing than the guys so be sure that your flesh is showing its fair share of dirt. You can also try wearing only one earring as if to show that your trip through the dirt was not an easy one, or go with big hoop earrings that are mis-shapened.

•   Hair: The messier the better. This applies for both the guys and the gals. Get it good and tattered looking and hold it in place with some extra firm hair spray.

Now just practice walking around with your arms straight out in front of you and mumble a lot and your zombie look is complete. Just be sure to stay away from the brains, you don’t need to be that authentic.

How to Dress Like Jesus

He goes by many names including, the son of God, Jesus of Nazareth, and Jesus Christ and whether you believe in him or not you have no doubt heard of him and know who he is. The stories from the Bible about Jesus are legendary. Jesus saved and healed so many and was then crucified to save the souls of all mankind only to rise once again three days after his death. More recently people have been seeing this symbol of Christianity in everything from grilled cheese sandwiches to grease spots on their driveways. And to think, such a powerful man had such a simplistic way of dressing, though he dressed normal for his time.

If you too would like to dress like Jesus here is how you can do it:

•   Robe: Jesus was known for his long flowing all-cotton robe. This is the typical robe that the average man wore back in those times in the Middle East. The robe should be white and should come down to about your calves or longer if you prefer. Remember not to go fancy here as Jesus dressed like the everyman of those times.

•   Footwear: Jesus always had on sandals. Every picture that depicts him shows this to be evident. Again, this was just the footwear of the time and though Jesus had great power, he was also very humble and dressed like everyone else. The sandals should be the kind that are simple and have straps that go up to the ankle or higher.

•   Accessories: Tie off the robe with a piece of ordinary rope and if you like you can wear a red shoulder sash as there are numerous pictures of Jesus doing so. Aside of that, unfortunately Jesus’ only other accessory that he ever wore was a crown of thorns. If you are dressing like Jesus to attend a costume party then you can further depict your character by making a fake crown of thorns to wear or by crafting a halo that can be worn over your head. Either head dress will get your point across. You can also carry a walking staff as Jesus often did. Two great props to further depict your character is to carry a loaf of bread and a fake fish as there are many stories in the Bible about how Jesus would feed many with only a single loaf of bread and one single fish.

•   Hair: To complete the Jesus look you have to have long hair. If your hair is short, consider a wig. Most pictures show Jesus’ hair as shoulder length and brown in color. Jesus also had a full beard and mustache. If you can’t grow one thick enough to look right again go with props. There are many stores that offer beards and mustaches that can be temporarily glued onto your face.

Remember, even though Jesus was the all mighty savior of man he never called attention upon himself. To truly pull off the look you have to look confident, yet humble all at the same time.

How to Dress Like The Fonz

From 1974 to 1984 Henry Winkler portrayed a character by the name of Author Fonzarelli, better known as Fonzie or The Fonz, on a show called Happy days. The Fonz was good with the ladies and as cool a customer as there could be and he made the catch phrase, ‘Ayyyy’ a household saying. The Fonz became so popular that still today there are guys that want to dress like him for Halloween, so how do you go about this?

The Fonz is a classic costume and is very easily replicated. Follow these simple instructions and you will look as cool as The Fonz this Halloween:

• Jeans: The Fonz always wore jeans and there was never a time when he dressed in anything else; except for his jump suit that he wore while working on hot rods or his motorcycle. But for all intense purposes, he only wore jeans. When choosing your jeans for the costume go with a classic cut that are a good loose fit and make sure that they are blue jeans. Go just a bit longer as in length as The Fonz always rolled his jeans up at the bottom.

• T-Shirt: This is the easiest piece of the Fonzie puzzle. Again, The Fonz never strayed from the formula and always wore a plain white t-shirt. The brighter the shirt, the better.

• Jacket: Along with his customary blue jeans and white t-shirt, The Fonz always wore his brown leather jacket. His leather jacket had a collar that lay down at the top and the sleeves ended in an elastic fabric material. Occasionally he wore a black leather jacket so if you can’t find a brown one, a black one will get you by.

• Shoes: The Fonz could always be seen in black work style boots. A pair of Sketchers will do the trick if you don’t have anything in your closet to fit the bill. The Fonz wore regular white tube socks with his ensemble so don’t go crazy with what you put on your feet.

• Hair: For the most part, The Fonz wore his hair the same way every episode. To replicate his hair style you will need to get some ‘grease’ and slick down your hair totally. Then comb up each side equally to sort of form a duck tale on the top of your head. If you don’t have the hair of the patience for that looks you can simple slick it back to get the essence of the hair style.

• Comb: Fonzie always had a comb on hand and frequently broke it out to comb his hair. Be sure to carry a standard black comb with you and break it out from time to time to get the full Fonz effect.

Once you have dressed up like The Fonz, you have to practice looking in the mirror and saying ‘Ayyyy,’ as well as constantly giving the thumbs up. Now if you can just fix a juke box machine with one whack, The Fonz transformation will be complete.

•   Tailored suites: Ever wonder why Oprah looks so fabulous in her suits? It is because she has them tailored to be the perfect fit. While you probably can’t afford to use Oprah’s tailor, and who could, many dry cleaners offer a tailoring service and the prices are usually very reasonable. Even if you only get one suit that is custom fit, a nice tailored suit is great to have and will have you too looking your best.

•   Form fitting: Even if you can’t afford a tailored suit, you should choose a suit that is form fitting on you. Stay away from tapered cut pants as this will not give a very flattering illusion. While you need to stay close, don’t overdo it and go super tight. Oprah always looks great, but never would she be caught dead wearing anything that is too tight.

•   Wear grays: Oprah loves to wear grays. This makes perfect sense as gray is not as doom and gloom as black is yet it doesn’t scream out loudly like white does. What’s even better is that gray goes with almost anything you have in your closet.

•   Shoes: Oprah is a fan of the high heels. She has been seen wearing high heels that are just regular all the way to stiletto high heels. Choose the style and color depending on what it is you are wearing, but always go heel.

•   Accessorize Oprah style: Adding a nice broche or pin to your suit jacket is a touch that Oprah practices on a regular basis. She is also a big fan of designer handbags and loves chandelier type earrings filled with jewels that hang. Bracelets and necklaces when they are worn are typically on the gaudy side as well so feel free to go big in this area.

• Hair and make-up: Go big with your hair like Oprah does. Don’t settle for flat hair, take the time to curl, curl, and curl some more. The more curls, the closer you will look to the Oprah image. Use make-up that compliments you skin tone and go for the natural look except for your cheekbones and lips.
