The television show 24 is one of the most popular TV series on right now. The main character, Jack Bauer, is played by actor Kiefer Sutherland. When it comes to fashion Jack Bauer is a pretty cut and dry guy. But that’s what makes dressing like him so much fun; because it is easily achieved.

Because Jack Bauer dresses like a regular guy it is easy to achieve his look. But his look on the show changes with the situation he finds himself in. You can not only achieve one look for Jack Bauer, but you can base your look on what you are going to be doing.

If you are simply going to be casual most of the time you are in luck. Jack Bauer’s casual look rarely consists of anything more than a pair of regular fit jeans and a comfort-fit long or short sleeve t-shirt topped off with a dark colored lightweight jacket.

The shirts he wears are usually lighter brown and cream colors when worn with the jacket which is a dark brown color. If he is wearing just a shirt the colors tend to be on the darker side. Lots of dark gray and blacks will do the trick. Make sure that the shirts are fit snug to your body but not too tight. On the opposite side of the spectrum do not wear a shirt that is too big. Jack Bauer always wears a nice form fitting shirt but he never tucks them in. His jacket is never buttoned up and always opened –probably to allow easy access to his gun.–

Jack Bauer’s jeans are not tight but are also not to baggy. He seems to wear just a regular cut to a relaxed cut pair of jeans and his belts are either black or brown. He is always on the go and running after or away from bad guys, so it makes sense that his jeans need to be comfortable.

Finding yourself in a dressier situation is alright too as Jack Bauer often finds himself has to look snappy or professional at times on 24. Many times on the show Jack Bauer can be seen in a nice pair of dress pants with a long sleeve button down shirt and a sports blazer. His dress shirts are typically darker grays while his dress pants and sports blazer are usually charcoal or black in color.

Jack Bauer’s shoes will of course vary from situation to situation but they are always black in color. If you really want to complete the look you will need a black lightweight bullet proof vest worn over your shirt, but under your jacket. Add a gun and you have the real thing –though you may not want to carry a gun.–

Now complete the look by not shaving for a couple of days to achieve a nice scruff on your face. Keep your hair short if you want to totally look like Jack Bauer. Now you will have the look and feel of what it is like to be Jack Bauer –without all the bullets being shot at you.–

How To Make White T-Shirts Whiter

It seems that white T-shirts are always the ones that get stained, dirty and discolored the quickest and easiest. Inevitably, our favorite ones are always amongst those that don’t look their best. However, you can relax by knowing that there are multiple things that you can do to make your white T-shirts even whiter.

•    Use bleach in your wash cycle with detergent if the T-shirts washing instructions do not warn against chlorine bleach. You may also soak the T-shirt in a mixture of bleach and water for a short period of time before washing it. Be sure to check instructions and do not leave the T-shirt soaking for too long in bleach or you will have a shirt with holes in it.
•    If your T-shirt’s instructions indicate no chlorine bleach, you can opt for color-safe bleach. Pre-treat stains by applying it undiluted to the spot and then soak the T-shirt overnight in a mixture of water and the same color-safe bleach. Wash as usual.
•    Adding bluing to the rinse cycles of your wash will also help to add some of the whiteness back to your favorite white T-shirt. Be careful to dilute it in water first to avoid blue stains on your tee.
•    Hang your favorite white T-shirt outside to dry it. The sun has a natural bleaching effect. Even in winter, white T-shirts will whiten up outside.
•    Vinegar also works as a bleaching agent for clothes. Add it to your wash cycle or soak your clothes in it. It is also very effective in getting rid of odors in T-shirts. Just be sure to not mix vinegar with bleach.
•    Baking soda added to your laundry will also help to whiten your T-shirts. A half-cup with your regular detergent will boost the detergent’s whitening power.
•    A half-cup of hydrogen peroxide added to your washing machine, along with your laundry detergent will also effectively whiten your tees.

Sometimes no matter what you do, your T-shirts will remain looking less than pristine. If you have neglected them for too long, they are too old or have been stained by certain things, there is no going back. If this is the case, you may want to simply replace the T-shirts in question and start off taking better care of the new ones. Suits

While the Jonas Brothers may wear a lot of suits, they aren’t the kind of suits that your grandparents wore. Keep your t-shirts in good condition by washing them only as often as you need to and using pre-treating stain removers to get out the worst stains.

Keep white t-shirts looking great by occasionally washing them with bleach. This will keep them looking bright white instead of getting dingy over time. Using some baking soda in the wash can also help them to look their best and whitest. If you sweat a lot, consider wearing a t-shirt under your white t-shirt to keep the underarm’s from looking yellowed and stiff.

Most t-shirts will last a long time and through many washes. By taking good care for t-shirt, it can last 50, 60 washes or more. However, there comes a time when a t-shirt should be discarded and replaced with a brand-new one. There are many times that the person wants to tuck in their shirt. There may even be times when it’s required that they do so. The question for some people is whether their t-shirt should be tucked into their pants or skirt or directly into their underwear. Typically, the parents’ role is to take care of the children. They ensure that you have food in your belly. That you get to school on time. A parent makes sure that you do your homework and that you’re dressed properly. However, in extreme cases, the child must take care of the parent. Mine is one of those extreme cases and I have decided that it is time for me to step in.

Because he’s already a grown-up, my dad knows how to handle most of the basics. He makes his own food and even makes some for me some times. He gets up everyday and goes to work without having to be waked up. No one has to remind him to do his homework, which I guess turns into paying the bills when you get old. But, he still hasn’t mastered the ‘dressing properly’ part of adulthood. Sure, he wears a suit to work and he looks pretty okay most of the time. When he gets home, he puts on his ‘casual clothes’. This is where it gets ugly.

The shirt, that is. He puts on his cool Dad shirt. Yikes. He has to think it’s cool or else he wouldn’t wear it as often as he does. The truth is, it’s the most hideous piece of clothing I, or anyone else, have ever seen. She’d never admit it, but even my mom thinks it’s awful. So I’ve decided that there needs to be an intervention and it’s up to me to save my dad from himself and his horrible taste. I’ve got to be sneaky about it, though. The shirt can’t just disappear or he’ll catch on and he might get his feelings hurt. What I’ll do is get him a new, much cooler shirt.

I’m even going to take it one step further. I’ll make him a personalized shirt just for him from little ole’ me. That way, it will automatically be way cooler than anything he has in his closet. And, he’ll be obligated to wear it as often as possible. That’s what parents do, right? They use, in any way possible, any and all gifts given to them by their children. I’m going to use his unconditional parental love against him. It’s for his own good.

So, kids, remember, you do not have to accept your parents’ embarrassing wardrobe choices. You do have options. In fact, your options are limited only by your imagination when you choose the fool proof route of having an original shirt designed for your stylistically challenged mom or dad. My only suggestion is that you not design the shirt to read “Fashion Victim.” I mean, you’re trying to help them overcome their challenges in the wardrobe department, not announce them to the world. However, if a shirt that says “Fashion Victim” would be a step up from their previous choice, I guess you can’t lose. Whatever you do, act now. Gift your dorky mom or dad with a cool new shirt designed by you. They’ll thank you for it one day.

If you love the color red, you may have a least one or two great T-shirts in the closet just begging to be worn. It’s hard to let those T-shirts stay there, waiting for the day when they can be part of an outfit. In order to get those T-shirts out the closet and into part of a well coordinated outfit, you’ll need to know what kind of pants will match a red T-shirt. If you have a bold red T-shirt that is a medium shade of red, just about anything will look great with it.  It’s pretty hard to go wrong with that color of red, luckily for you. Wear the shirt with jeans for a well-coordinated look. This is a classic look that everyone can enjoy and wear to a casual occasion or for their everyday activities. If the red color is a very dark shade such as a burgundy or maroon color, there are several options available. The proper washing cycle will depend a lot on how dirty the t-shirt is, what type of stains it has on it and how old the t-shirt is. It also depends on what the color of the t-shirt is.

A brightly-colored t-shirt might benefit from a slower washing cycle than a white t-shirt or one with a pastel color. Vigorous washing can fade a t-shirt color faster than if the washing cycle is slower. Cotton t-shirts don’t generally require a delicate cycle, but a bright t-shirt might benefit from a slow cycle to keep the color bright.

If a t-shirt is a white one or one with a lighter color, the wash cycle will not be as important for keeping the t-shirt’s color. The color still may fade, however, if it is washed in the fastest washing speed many times. Unless a white t-shirt is extremely dirty or smells badly, using the same technique of switching the washing cycle between the fastest cycle and a slow washing cycle will extend the life of the t-shirt. It will keep the material from thinning as much and allow the t-shirt more life than if it is always washed on the fastest cycle.

If a t-shirt is extremely dirty, the fast cycle may be the only one that works well to remove the dirt and grime. This is often true if the stains are hard to get out. Grass stains and blood stains may require the use of the fastest cycle in order to loosen these stains. If the t-shirt is only slightly dirty, a slow cycle will work fine to loosen the dirt. It might even be cleaned just as well as if the t-shirt is rinsed out in the sink with some gentle soap. A quick hand wash in the sink will give the t-shirt a longer life and keep the t-shirt from developing pills or faded colors.

How to Keep T-Shirts and Clothes Looking New

Most articles of clothing including t-shirts look their best when they are brand new. Keeping the look of new clothing is one of the biggest struggles of clothing care. There are some washing and drying techniques that make clothing wear out far quicker than if the clothing is treated with other washing and drying techniques.

One of the harshest things that can be done to laundry is to use an electric drier. These age clothing faster than just about anything else that can be done to it. To keep clothing looking newer for far longer, use other drying techniques if possible. Using a dryer does make clothing feel softer but it strips it of many of the fibers of the clothing. If you’ve ever noticed the lint that comes out of a dryer lint trap, you’ve seen where those fibers end up. That lint is largely small particles of the clothing that was dried in the machine.

If you want to bypass the dryer, using an old-fashioned drying line can dry clothing quickly and without wearing out the fabric. If you have bright colors drying, be sure to put the line in the shade. Bright sunlight can cause colors to fade more quickly. This will make the drying process take longer, but the clothing will eventually dry in the fresh air.

Another way to keep t-shirts and clothing looking newer longer is to use cold water to wash the clothes. Hot water is a harsh way to wash clothes and can lead to fading of the colors and for the fabric to ball up into the pills that can form on cotton. Use cold water whenever possible to wash your clothing. There are times when clothing is so dirty or has so many odors that washing it in cold water won’t solve the problems. In those cases, try warm water instead of hot. You might also try alternating between using cold water and hot water on each load of laundry. This cuts in half the number of times that the clothing is washed in hot water while still giving it a deep cleaning every other time.

Harsh detergents are another problem with keeping clothing looking new. The detergents that we use may be effective, but they can also cause some damage to clothing and fade the colors. Using the gentlest detergents possible, that still get out the dirt and odor, will keep the clothing looking better. If the clothing is not getting clean by using a gentler detergent, try a pre-treatment regimen first before using the gentler detergent.

If possible, don’t use bleach to clean the clothes. There are of course times when only bleach will remove a stain. But, on everyday loads, don’t include bleach in the wash. It causes fabric to wear thin far more quickly than a regular detergent. After just a few washes in bleach, a thin fabric may develop holes. If you do use bleach, use it as a spot-treatment if possible instead of adding it to the wash.
